Cabela's 9" 400-Gram Pinnacle™ Hunting Boots with GORE-TEX® Scent-Lok®

Simply put, you won’t find other full-featured hunting boots enhanced with W.L. Gore’s revolutionary GORE-TEX Scent-Lok membranes at a lower price anywhere. These innovative linings are not only 100% waterproof and breathable, but also reduce your scent. What’s more, we’ve given the Pinnacle an improved fit to ensure the most comfortable boots possible. The waterproof, full-grain leather uppers are outfitted with 900-denier nylon panels for lightweight comfort and zero break-in time. And for added abrasion resistance and durability, the exteriors are fashioned with rubber toecaps and heel counters to prevent the damage caused by snags and rocky trail hazards. The cam­ou­flage EVA midsoles and rubber outsoles combine for incredible shock absorp­tion while promoting biting traction over various terrain types. 400-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation. Imported.

They leak.

The good part first; boots are very comfortable with good traction on slopes. The bad part is that they both leaked within a few months (100 wears). Cabela's warranty is good, period,....... but your feet get cold and wet until you go through the hassle and aggravation of going back to the store. Is Gore Tex as good as it used to be? Does Scent Lock reduce water-proof quality?

My pair have not lasted that long, a few years old and water pours in and they are falling apart.

THEY SMELL !

First the good
Boots are Very Comfortable
Now the Bad
The boots have a terrible oil odor !! I've been wearing them all week trying to rid the soles of the odor,without any luck. I don't understand why they would make a boot with Scent-Lok only to have the rest of the boot smelling like oil. Seriously these boots smell up the room,or car,or garage,where ever you keep them. I'm not sure if there is anything you can do to rid them of this smell. I've scrubbed them with soap,it doesn't work. I'm a bow hunter and I have no plans on wearing these to hunt.

Sweet Hunting Boots

Bought these boots for a lighter walking boot for mid season to late season hunting in VT. Although not quite as Wide as I would want them, but, overall an excellent boot with sweet design & tread. Will be working the "Ridge Runners" so these light boots will be perfect for working "Big Boy" up top....
