Better than Smartwool at a better price

I use these for hiking and backpacking. They've stayed soft and intact far longer than Smartwool socks that I've owned. I'm a big guy and tend to destroy anything that I put on my feet and these have withstood quite a lot of miles hiking. Normally my socks would be hard and threadbare but these are still going strong.

I bought these at the advice of my doctor. My feet are extremely sensitive to the cold weather, and I bought these an XL, as my normal size sneaker is 11W. They were so tight at first, but after wearing for awhile (less than 20 minutes), they felt comfy. The heel is extremely reinforced, something I've never felt on any cotton sock. The fabric didn't make my foot itchy. The sewing line over the toes didn't irritate either (some socks have the stitch line across the top of the toes, some have them in front of the toes). I am very picky about what goes on my feet, and these felt great. They are very thick, and even though I have yet to go outside with them to really test them out, I think I will be just fine (hopefully).
