Having cold feet in your waders can ruin any fishing or hunting trip. Keep your feet warm and comfortable all day long with Cabela's Battery Heated Wader Socks. D-cell batteries (not included) are worn on your belt or in a wader pouch. Low amperage eliminates possibility of shock. Made of high-quality 40% virgin wool, 40% acrylic and 20% stretch nylon. Wiring and connections are positioned to prevent rubbing and chafing. Mothproof and shrink resistant. Hand wash. Imported.

Theses socks are great and keep your toes nice and warm. I do, however, recommend putting another pair of socks over them to trap the heat in. They are great for hunting outdoor and the long cord allows you to put the battery pack in your pocket. It takes two D batteries so it does weigh your pants down a bit and you must be careful to snap the pack correctly or it won\u2019t heat. Unfortunately, there is no indicator to whether or not it is actually on; no light or switch, just closing the pack turns it on. So before retuning it try the socks out while wearing boots, you\u2019ll slowly start to notice a difference. These socks heat up to a warm temperature not hot. Overall great product!

So, what's the problem?

This is a good product, BUT - it worked four times for me real well with 8 hours of battery life, and then quit working. I checked all wire connections, put in new batteries, then checked the batteries, -NOTHING!
After reading all reviews for these socks, it seems that the heaters of these socks either work, or they don't.
It would be good for Cabela's to go back to the drawing board to find out what goes wrong.
They are making good though by sending me a replacement pair. Will see ...

Great addition to my hunting gear. Battery pack on belt allows you to turn on the socks after you get decoys set so you don't waste battery life.

I reviewed the comments before I purchased these socks. Keeping in mind that one is more likely to complain than to praise I took a chance. The complainers were right. They warmed up nicely when i tried them at home but I could not even tell they were on when I tried them in my waders.
