The best packable rain jacket

As always Sitka comes through with the Downpour optifade ( forest ) jacket. This will keep you dry which is what it was made for. It is very packable and you won't know you even have it in your pack until you need it and then it could be a true lifesaver.

I don't know where the noise issue come from as I found it to be very quiet under normal hunting conditions. I suppose if the temps were down below 30 degrees it might make some noise but I am never going to use the Downpour in conditions like that.

As advertised, the jacket kept me completely dry while sitting in pouring rain for 5+ hours. On the noise - I walked up within 40 yards of a buck eating at a food plot while wearing this, and he had no idea I was there.

Love This Jacket

This is one high quality product. Like most of their gear, the Sitka Downpour Jacket is built like a mountaineering rain shell. It has proven to not only be waterproof, but is lightweight and stretchy, making it very packable and comfortable to wear. Other reviews claim it is noisey, I disagree. If it is raining, snowing, or precipitating in any way, the brushed face of this jacket will keep you quiet.
This jacket is the ideal choice for a packable rain shell.
The only complaint I have is no pit zips. Sitka usually covers their bases on these types of details but overlooked venting on this jacket.
Despite this little detail, I would highly recommend this product.

Best Rain Gear So Far.

I wear heavy duty rain gear for work. This rain gear is on par with my work gear. It held up to Rosey bow hunting in Coastal Oregon, very brushy and wet! Tough as nails and Waterproof.
