Used to wear Rocky's at work during the winter. I returned a pair of leaking Cabela's boots and chose these to replace them after struggling to get them on over my high instep. They're very light and my feet barely sweat even after hiking 5 1/2 miles in mud and snow. The 1000 gram insulation isn't too warm, even during the hikes which are in 45 degree temperatures. They're breaking in and slide on easier now although I can't wear real thick socks...why would I with that insulation? Now I'm going to return another pair of Cabela boots with GoreTex that leak... I'll look for 8" Rocky boots w/o insulation for the Summer trail building I do.
Boots are VERY LIGHT WEIGHT and offer great support however, had to return them due to their TIGHT FIT, I normally wear a 12 and without socks the boots were a little tight! After trying them on with wool socks, I knew they had to be returned. Recommend ordering one size larger to allow socks. Overall great looking, light boots perfect for early bow season!
This is my second pair of Rocky boots. I had my first pair for over ten years and decided to go with Rocky again. These boots are very lite and have all day comfort right out of the box. I hunt in Virginia and we havent had any extreme cold days yet but my feet have been warm on those 20 degree mornings. I'm very satisfied with this boot.
Very comfortable, traction is great! And with 1000 grams of thinsulate they do the job for getting on the big bucks late season when the temps are below freezing! Cant be happier with rocky!
