Cabela's Woodsman™ 9" Uninsulated Hunting Boots

9" uninsulated boots with rugged full-grain leather and suede uppers. Comfort-enhancing padded tongues with ventilating Airmesh™ collars. Hand-stitched, Goodyear® welt construction makes sole replacement easy, extending the life of the boots. Long-lasting lug outsoles withstand the abuses of rough terrain. Removable polyurethane footbeds. Imported.

Finish thin on toe; cured scuffed look with mink oil.
Buying a second pair for my son.

Not what they used to be!

They have redesigned these boots badly for an uninsulated boot. The old style only had a small amount of padding at the top edge and none on the tongue and were cool enough to wear all summer. The new design has thick padding on the top 6 inches and on the entire tongue that acts as insulation. I wore them for about 3 hours on a 80 degree day and my feet were burning up. I put my old ones back on and put the new ones away until cooler weather. They are comfortable fitting but just too hot with last for years like my old ones. Coating the with mink oil will make the semi waterproof.

These are very comfortable boots. Some of the best I've had. The 12 EE is right on size for what fits me and what I usually buy.

I ordered these boots because I'm working for a tree service in Mobile, Al this summer. I needed a pair that were cool (It's around 100 degrees here), had good traction (It gets muddy where we work), and that I could walk in all day (The job requires me to walk around alot). They arrived today and I'll be using them monday. They fit good and snug and feel cool and comfortable. I just wish they were waterproof (Hence the 4 star rating). But overall, great boots from cabelas. Can't wait to see how well they hold up!
