Cabela's 8" Elk Hunter™ 400-Gram Boot

When the weather turns cold turn to Danner's full-grain leather 400-gram insulated boots, lined with Thinsulate™ Ultra insulation and 100% waterproof GORE-TEX® fabric for lightweight dryness and comfort. Built by Danner to meet Cabela's specifications, the Elk Hunter uses a lace-to-toe design for great support. Tightening the laces over your instep ensures added stability on the uneven ground which elk and deer hunters often encounter. Removable Airthotic™ insole adds extra arch support while promoting air circulation and comfortable heel placement. The double-layer midsole of thin, hard rubber plus thick, soft EVA cushions every step while protecting feet from stone bruises. Airbob outsole provides superior traction while taking the shock out of walking. Supportive heel counter prevents your foot from shifting and holds your heel in place. Moisture wicking lined. Riveted eyelet and hook lacing snugs your foot into a firm, ankle-supporting fit. Steel shank. Made in USA.

Best Chukar Hunting Boots, No Doubt!!!
Date:
I spend about 50-60 days in the field every fall/winter. Most of my time is spent hunting chukar in the rugged Nevada wilderness. I've owned boots from every "big name" boot maker, and I never found a better boot than the Danner Elk Hunter. The traction of the air-bob sole is unbeatable. The support of the lace-to-toe design is unbeatable. These boots handle the roughest terrain that chukar hunters encounter: rim rock, rock fields, steep slopes, snow, ice, etc. Don\u2019t pass up these boots if you are a serious chukar hunter. You won\u2019t regret paying the extra money for a pair of quality boots that are made in the USA.

Cabelas Elk Hunter

These are great! Comfortable right out of the box. I tried to "break them in" for a month prior to my buck hunt, but found that when I put them on for the second time, they felt like I'd had them forever!
Very warm, and my feet never got wet!

8" Elk Hunter 400 gram boot

Purchased these boots to replace different hunting boots that developed a leak. So far so good with these ones. They are comfortable while hiking over some pretty uneven ground and keep my feet dry. Great boot!

Good boots
Date:
Excellent pair of boots ordered my normal size and was a little long this was not a big deal though as I will be wearing these in the cold with thicker socks, if I were to be wearing with normal socks a lot I probably would have went down a half size.
These boots were made to be put on and worn all day really comfortable. The lace to toe feature provides excellent fit, worth the extra time it takes to lace them up. Which brings up what I think is the only down side to the boots which is the amount of insulation in the tongue area it takes some fiddling with while still being broken in to get right
Overall very good quality boot with good lace to toe feature that is really hard to find elsewhere might have to buy the uninsulated ones for spring and summer
