Very narrow
Date:
Meindl and Cabelas missed the mark on this shoe. I wear a 9.5 shoe and 8.5 fit me in this shoe. After wearing them for a couple days feet hurt because way too narrow. I am dissapointed because I like the looks and appear to be well made. Gave 2 stars because well made. If you have pencils for feet this is the shoe for you. Order 1 size smaller. Returning them to Cabelas next week.

Do not purchase these shoes...
Date:
The shoes are not sized correctly. If you wear a 11, better buy a 10. They are very stiff and ridgid. Not comfortable at all. My feet are very sore by days end. I have been wearing them about a month now so it is too late to return them. Thanks to Gore-tex they do keep your feet dry. I have owned 5 pairs of Merrells. It looks like I will go buy my 6th pair to replace these.

worst purchase ever
Date:
I bought these from Cabela's last April. They look great and are a well made shoe. They were not on sale then! I haven't worn them 30 times.
They have hurt the arch of my foot .
I have had bad foot pain since.
Won't buy Meindls again.
I just ordered a pair of Keens from Cabela's.

solid and sturdy
Date:
The sizing is the most unusual I have ever experienced. I take 9-1/2 to 10 (mostly 10) and I had to return the size 9's for 8-1/2's. The shoe fits my narrow foot well, and it leaves a lot of room in the toe area for thicker socks.
I have had the shoes for several months and they are very well built, with almost no visible wear and tear. In addition, I have worn them several times for a full day's outing and I have felt noticably less foot fatigue than in other hiking shoes I have bought.
