Cabela's Alaska Hiker Boots by Meindl

  • Engineered by Meindl and Cabela's to handle mountainous conditions
  • Special lacing system helps eliminate blister-causing slippage
  • High rubber rand surrounds the entire boot to protect from rocks
  • 100% waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® membrane
We worked with Meindl to design the new Hiker to specifically handle the absolute toughest mountainous conditions. Maximum support is needed in steep, rocky terrain, so they're built with a super-stiff insole for stability and extreme torsional rigidity. A DIGAfix® lacing system creates a perfect, pressure-free fit around the instep and heel to eliminate blister-causing slippage. And the Vibram® multi-grip outsole offers non-slip traction on rock walls, scree fields and most any ground you're likely to encounter. A rubber rand completely encircles the upper for maximum abrasion protection. Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® booties combine with a moisture-wicking lining to keep feet dry in any condition. And a padded collar and fully gusseted tongue eliminate pinching and binding. An air active footbed guards against ankle- and knee-jarring shocks. The 8" uninsulated Hikers are perfect for milder weather outings. These are the ultimate Alpine boots. Made in Germany.

best boots i have ever purchased
Date:
I live in louisiana and purchased the cabela's alaska hiker boots by meindl to use for hunting because of our mild winters and found that there so comfortable that i dare not wear them in the woods . I now wear them for my every day shoes . I had surgery on both feet and its hard to find comfortable shoes that support my ankles . You may laugh but I even where them to church.I also purchased the meindl best inserts and its like walking on air Couldn't be more satisfied and happy with my purchase. Tell everyone its worth the money and i will by another pair again.

Great boots
Date:
I have a pair of Alaska Hunters by Meindl and they have been the best boots for steep rocky country that I hunt in. But they are 9 yrs old and have gained weight. So I decided to try the Alaska Hikers. So far they are very good. I was in very wet conditions for a full day including standing in ankle deep water and the boots stay almost completely dry. Seemed like a little seeped in but very satisfactory for the conditions. I am replacing the footbed inserts with a better pair. I wore them to work for a week before taking easy hikes. They are comfortable and easy to lace tight or loose as conditions warrant. They feel lighter, probably because they are lighter, than the Hunters. Support seems just as good.

Nice Boots!
Date:
These boots are all they can be. I used them on a 17 day sheep hunt and they performed well. The only drawback is the footbed. I replaced them with the perfekt footbed and now they are the best boot I have used.
