I would suggest the tall version for most people

I am very average height, but workout a lot and have big shoulders. This jacket barely came down to my waist, it is very short. I would suggest the tall version of the average man.

Great piece of layering. 300 weight is perfect for stand alone jacket or under a wind breaker shell. I wear a 2X fleece under a 3x shell. Jacket is true to size. Polartec is the best fleece. Bargain Cave price made it better.

I wanted a zip up hooded fleece to wear under my wading jacket when the temps drop in the Eastern Sierras. Fits well, but as others have noted the hood is large. Not a problem if worn with a ball cap. Also as noted by at least one other reviewer, the bottom pull stays do not work. The wrong size springs were used and thus there is not enough tension to keep them closed. Color doesn't look like Brown to me, but hey my wife says I can't tell colors apart anyway.
I'd be upset if I paid full price. Great deal in the "Bargain Cave" though.
