These lightweight pants feature zip-off legs for ultimate warm-weather versatility, along with UPF rating of 40 performance nylon shell fabric that gives you protection from harmful solar rays. They also have ankle zippers for easy on/off over shoes. There's a kill-switch loop on the waistband that can also be used to hold forceps, nippers and other small tools. Rear zip-close pockets with mesh linings and front side-entry pockets. 8" inseam when converted to shorts. Machine washable. Imported.

I love my older Cabela Guidewear pant and live in them all Spring and Summer. One ot the things I really liked was all the pocket space. Now they just have regular pants pockets. These are not designed for an outdoorsman!

Solution to 2-sizes-too-small Cabelas waist

Bought these due to Guidewear being Cabelas' premium brand for the bibs, parkas, fishing gear, etc. that I have purchased over the years. I need these pants for their very light weight & quick-dry nylon, for month-long international travel with severe weight limits. Plus they will not be that heavy on me when wet with hiking sweat in jungles.
I have bought many Cabelas heavy cotton cargo pants, and all have been generously sized. However, while these Guidewear II pants are loose in the legs in my normal 3XL size, they leave a 6-inch gap at the waist until one sucks in hard and stretches the elastic on both sides to its ultimate 4-inch stretch limit. Extremely uncomfortable and completely unacceptabe. However, I found a solution in reading past Cabelas reviews after my purchase; this exact problem, of several, has endured since LarryJN commented on 17 August 2009, expanding on ideas from many related reviews before him, notably Monticello 23 June 2009, Steelfisher 9 June 2009, 5wtfisherman 8 August 2008, & Uptight 23 June 2008.
So, like LarryJN, Monticello, Steelfisher, 5wtfisherman, Uptight and many others back to 2008, I ordered the 4XL and 5XL Guidewear II pants that are available, to see which would allow the waist to close, tolerating the oversize legs this caused. The 5XL waist closed normally with minimal elastic expansion [as the 3XL should have, i.e., a 48-inch waist]. The 4XL closed with modest elastic stretch, about 1.5 to 2 inches. To keep the leg diameter down, I kept the 4XL, planning to lose weight.

Rip while hiking

I bought these pants for Yosemite hiking. The first day the pant/shorts part came undone at the seam on my right side for about two inches. The pants were loose fitting, so I know I did not stress the material. This is clearly due to shoddy workmanship.

Please bring back Original Guidewear pants

If your are a fisherman then these GXII pants are completely useless. pocket design is non-functional, Quality is degraded, and size runs smaller than original.
I see that they are on sale....hope that means changes are coming.
Simply bring back original design and quality or I will not be buying or recommending guidewear pants.
Fortunately I have several pairs of the original still in good shape, but when time comes, then I'll be buying elsewhere.
