Best Hat for Sun

I am an authority on outdoor hats as I have been a 'serial purchaser' trying to find just the right one to run in. No garden work , or leisurely strolls,(called hiking) for me. In the category of 'brims'- size does count. This hat DELIVERS.
One might attract strange glances traveling around a track with an umbrella- Which might be the only better sun guard compared with this hat. It is light, functional and lobster-nose will be a thing of the past. Buy it already !!

Serious Sun Protection

I love this hat. I live in New Mexico and spend a lot of time hiking in the desert, so I appreciate good sun protection. There were days that I forgot my sunscreen and didn't burn (my face & head) because of this hat. My only gripe is that the brim is a little too floppy, especially after you wash it. That's a problem in any kind of wind because it blows the brim back, thus defeating the sun protection.

it's an ok hat, but it's very flimsy. brim won't hold it's shape. ok for putzing around the yard. good for the sun, very cool. not good for rain.

I have been training in the hot Florida sun all summer for the Susan G. Komen, 60 mile,3 day walk in October. I couldn't have done it without this boonie hat. Not only does it shade all the way around, it feels like a fan on my head while walking. I love the adjustable band too.
