I use braided lines in about 90% cases, so I do need gloves with a longer cut on at least on index finger. I used to try the former model but it was too subtle to withstand fishing situations I'm often in... Glacier 50+ UPF Stripping/Fighting Gloves are much tougher than a previous model but way lighter than "sea" gloves I was caused to use (Blue Fever, Pelagic). Thanks people at Glacier for turning out lightweight but tough enough gloves for freshwater "braid-minded" guys like me.

Good all around fishing gloves

These gloves kept me an several occaisions from getting my hands fried in the Southern california sun. They are comfortable and I can tie lines and re-rig my poles with ease. They are however sized a little larger than regular gloves that you buy at the store. I usually were a large witch is what I ordered and the gloves were just a little large, but I was able to adjust the strap and roll the fingers down one turn and they fit perfect now.

the velcro closure makes it easy on easy off, even when full of sweat. sungloves w/o that velcro are harder to take off. the materiel could be a little softer.
