Great fishing gear
Date:
Not only does it keep you dry it also is a great wind block. The material is strong enough to be use on the rocks when we are fishing for springers. If I ever wear them out i will get more.

First Cabela's Outerwear; BEST Pants
Date:
I am a frequent skier, hiker, snowshoer, and camper and needed a pair of new waterproof pants that were well priced, durable, and comfortable. I found these on a whim at the Sidney store in October 2011 and was sold.
First, I tried them on and unlike other pants, bib or not, these slid right on and just fit right. I also tried on other brands at the store and NONE fit like these. Like shoes, if it fits, get it.
Second, the quality of the material is amazing. The nylon shell material is very durable and heavy. It was clear to me that if Cabelas was making this for hunters and professional wilderness guides then it must be very durable and reliable. So it would work for my ski trips into the Wasatch.
Third, the value is amazing. Compare these to other "big" outdoor brands and you will see that those other items are (1) much more expensive, and (2) not nearly as durable. I have owned these other brands and they just don't hold up to beating from ski boots or even the parking lot!
So those were the initial impressions. I have used them since then in ski trips and wear fleece pants underneath them (with polypro underneath). I have never been too hot or cold at all--in temps ranging from 0 F to 40 F. The zippers on the legs are very good for venting and for adjusting the cuffs to fit ski boots. The bibs keep you warm and keep even Utah's deep snow out. They are waterproof. The straps are comfortable. The pockets are easy to open and close and spacious. And most importantly, they are still like new with NO wear on the bottom from ski boots or the parking lot. Other pants have worn out on the bottom of the cuffs very quickly.
What would make these perfect? Extend the chest zipper down to the crotch (or have a crotch zipper). I don't think that it is a big deal, but it would make them better. Also add the option for built in straps to make the bottoms like gaiters. Other than that, very durable, very affordable, and the best pants I have owned. I'm sold on Cabelas quality.

Gore Tex Bibs x 300
Date:
Nice cut on the bibs. I struggled with ordering TALL or REGULAR, I am 6'1". REGULAR worked well for me. The front fly zipper I can live with but it could be modified by a seamstress. My issue with the bibs would be the lack of access to your keys and wallet in the pants you are wearing. I was assuming there would be an access hole. This could also be modified locally. No hand warmer pockets cut in either. Will be checking on the new style that they just brought out to see if these options are available. Otherwise I expect this item to perform well. Color Black did not match NEW style Parka, black.

GOOD BIBS FOR THE ROCKIES
Date:
I use these when I take my ATV into he Rockies as I live in Colorado and winter is WINTER these are great for wind and rain blockage. They keep you dry in the summer rains and also in the winter when we take the track units to the mountains they keep you warm as the snow flies by.
