great Jacket that leaks
Date:
I bought this jacket on special about 4 years ago. I love wearing it but I have been caught in multiday drenching rain 4 times now and it has always leaked badly and left me wet, while my fishing Buddie who has an expensive (company unnamed) Jacket has stayed dry. If you are going to be in long hard downpours with only a tent to dry off in at night, this is not your jacket. Not all Gortex jackets are created equal. I loved wearing the jacket but you can't count on it

It's not leak proof
Date:
I fish in Oregon at least 50 days per year and bought this jacket hoping it would be the last rain jacket I'd ever need. The first couple of outings for steelhead on rainy days were okay, but I don't like the cuff design. The neo-insert is pretty useless as indicated by others water goes right up the sleeve. The cuff velcro design catches everything including running line, but I adapted to these flaws and kept fishing. Then one day I was on a lake fishing in my float tube in a steady rain when it failed to keep me dry. My shoulders and back had gotten soaked in about 3-4 hours so I had to change jackets. I haven't worn it since. I don't think this jacket lasted 20 days on the water for me. The review from the guy who used it all summer in Alaska was the reason I bought the jacket.. I wouldn't recommend this jacket to anyone that intends on it being their only rain coat. It's not a great wind stopper so extra layers are a must and it''s too heavy for moderate days so I just don't know where this jacket fits in.

Very Nice coat!
Date:
The best money I have ever spent on a coat. I bought this coat last spring and have worn it about a dozen times. I live and fish in Oregon, where it tends to rain a bit and I have never gotten wet wearing it! I just got back from fishing and it poured for a solid three hours and came back dry. The cuffs are a little odd, but they do keep the water out, and if you don't want to use them just don't put your thumb through the hole. There are lined hand warmer pocket that are up high on the coat so they don't fill with water. Great coat for the money!

Best wading jacket I have ever owned
Date:
I usually wait for a year or so after I purchase an outdoor product before I review it in order to really put it through the paces. I have owned this jacket for a year now and have worn it in every severe weather condition one would normally encounter while fishing and it has performed flawlessly. I have worn it in everything from torrential down pours to snow and sleet storms and have never had even a hint of leakage. The material it is made of is very durable and the pockets are large enough to carry small fly or gear boxes. I have noticed that some reviewers have been less than happy with the neoprene cuff/hand warmers but I have found this feature to be one of the things I like best about the jacket, The cuffs keep your hands warm if you're fishing in the rain or sleet and you can just pull your thumbs out if you want and then the cuff will function as a traditional cuff.
There has been many times when I have been fishing in very cold wet conditions when I have thought to myself what an ingenious idea the neoprene cuffs are.
All in all I give this jacket a rating of 100%. By far the best fishing jacket I have ever owned.
