Finally - a mitten with no finger dividers
Date:
If you've ever had to put wet mittens on over wet hands you know how hard this is to do when the mittens have finger dividers. These do not, which alone makes them highly recommended. But they're also plenty warm. This is partly due to the generous microdown insulation, but also to the fact that they don't have finger dividers, which keep the heat from being distributed properly around the fingers. Get these mittens - you'll be glad you did.

Great over-mitts!
Date:
First, it is my opinion that when conditions call for no-nonsense, no-foolin-around warmth, there is no substitute for Cabela’s GORE-TEX Pinnacle mittens -- my wife and I each have a pair of these in the medium size. However, we also have two pair of Cabela’s Microdown mittens in the 2XL size. We wear these over the medium size Pinnacle mittens (like a sub-arctic over-mitt) when it’s EXTREMELY cold, and when the need for dexterity pales in comparison for the need for absolute warmth. This combination provides “off-the-scale” warmth, and also allows for hand warmers to be introduced between the mittens (if needed). Used in this way, if these Microdown mittens were made in a 3XL, 4XL, or even 5XL size; those with larger hands could test this combination out for themselves. These Cabela’s Microdown mittens are an outstanding product, and allow for liner gloves/mittens and/or hand-warmers. Yet another reason why Cabela’s is the World’s Foremost Outfitter!

microdown mittens
Date:
I have stiff thumb joints from cross country skiing
in very cold weather. My hand joints ache when they
get very cold. Wanted a pair of mittens which
could accomodate hand warmer packs in the mitten back
behind a liner glove inside the mitten. Would use
while cross country skiing for several hour trips.
These are great mittens- I ordered a 2XL, as I have
large hands, but the XL would probably be big enough.
There is insulation in the palm as well as the back, and
wrists. This is a great product- have just started using these
mittens, and they are so warm in the temperature teens,
that I will have to wait for single digit temps or below
zero to use the hand warmer packs. Its like having
a soft feather down blanket wrapped around your hand.
This seems to be a quality product, and will add a comment
later in the season after I see how they hold up.

great looking mittens!
Date:
i just received these mittens today and my first impression is that these look like very nice, high quality mittens. they have a generous amount of microdown insulation and they look to be very well made. i'm 6'1 and 170 lbs and i'll wear these with liner gloves. i ordered the 2X large and the size seems perfect.
