These gloves didn't look like much all squeezed into the rack, but they are among the best mid-priced gloves out there. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the cold, even very cold. It is hard to find warm gloves, in part because there are no universal standards. A glove can say Thinsulate or Primaloft, but it could be 40gram or 300gram. After buying several pairs of gloves that would not keep my fingers warm, I noticed that these had 200 gram thinsulate. They do the trick. They keep my hands warm down to about 0F with a bit of wind. The leather palms are particularly supple and seem to be exceptionally strong as well. At first I didn't like the inner sleeve, preferring gauntlet closures, but these work like a charm. All in all a great glove. On sale, I don't think you can beat these gloves anywhere from any manufacturer for warmth and well-made.
Went camping last weekend with my son and his Boy Scout troop. Temps got down into the single digits and never had a problem keeping my hands warm with these gloves. I like the self sealing cuffs on these. That seems to be a feature that is becoming harder to find on a lot of gloves. You don't have to mess with drawstrings on over sized cuffs with these. They insulated very well and are waterproof for sure. They seem to run a little small though. Glad I found this out in the store. If I had ordered online I would have ordered one size too small.
I used the glove in 23F temperature, wind chill factored to 6F. My fingers are warm. I got into my car, and the steering wheel doesn't chill my fingers. I do feel the glove's finger tips are cold, but my fingers are not long enough to touch the tips. The insulation is thick, too thick for detail work. The glove is flat, so when you curl you fingers, you feel some resistance. The leather used is not grippy, feels dry to the touch. I liked it anyway because it keeps my hands warm, and I know I am not going to need it very often.
