i love this jacket, its very cozy and keeps you at the right temp, at any temp. last winter our low was -1F and it was still a T-shirt and jeans with this jacket, very nice. several times (we had a WET winter) it was sleeting and or raining then freezing, but this jacket didnt let any water get in at all. i was lying in deep snow waiting for some deer to come into view, and i was wearing jeans, so go figure, my jeans were SOAKED and legs were numb, but my upper body stayed perfectly warm and had to check that i wasnt too cold to notice i was wet at all. Also, with wind, it is pretty good. some snowstorms were 30-40mph winds but it was nicely un noticible mostly. i bought this jacket 2 sizes big so i can grow/let my father wear it, and also future layering, but knowing now that i wont need layers, i wish i bought it a size smaller haha. mobility is pretty good and its silent as it will get. great jacket for a great price.
This parka is very well made, and its very similar to my MT050 Whitetail Extreme Parka. I only wish it had zippers on the hand pockets. This is a very effective winter pattern, I got pretty close to view some wild turkeys that were hunkered down in a pocket of evergreens, got to watch them for a while got within 20 feet before spooking them. Still waiting to get on some deer tracks with my camera. Thanks for a great opportunity Cabelas. J Grant
Lets get some things straight. I don't want to brag or sound conceited but all my gear is mostly top of the line and that's all I am used too. I decided along time ago that I would buy only the best...and these bibs are no exception. One reviewer stated his pocket was sewn is backwards..oops!!!, must have been an "off-run".... my pocket was perfect ( it is a back right side pocket with zipper) Another review said the bibs were sized "small" Again...must have been a fluke, because these seemed sized perfectly at a large...which is what I have (the review stated the legs seemed tight and they are slightly tapered in but nothing major. The pattern on these is excellent, does not give the blue hue against the snow like some other camo patterns and I must admit I didn't like the open country logo being all over but really don't notice after awhile. Sewing and stitching is excellent and even is made in Vietnam!! Go charlie!! I like the side zippers as well as the zip down front!!! I hope i can get the matching parka to go out on my deep winter, back country camping trips..(sold out online) I will be a warm, invisible ghost in the arctic back country of Colorado
