It’s lightweight fabric makes it ideal for use as a midlayer, and stashes away easily inside a pack. Synthetic down insulation offers a lighter weight and a loft similar to natural down without the tendency to mat. Plus, synthetic-down garments are affordable. The Vest has a full-length zipper, handy upper chest pocket and two spacious front pockets. Imported.

Great Vest - Great Bargain

I wore this vest for the first time last weekend during a very chilly, blustery day. I was impressed by how warm this lightweight vest kept me and how well it stops the wind. It also packs down very small and weighs next nothing, so there's no reason not to stuff it in your pack until needed. It will definitely be a part of my regular outfit this hunting season. Only drawback: It isn't waterproof, or even water resistant, so you would definitely want to wear it under a waterproof shell if rain or snow was expected.

I was looking for an insulating layer for the cold stand days that wouldn't add too much bulk. Looked at all the vests cabelas had to offer... this was an easy choice. Perfect insulating layer, warm as you'll need, no bulk and cut perfectly. Used base layer under armor cold gear, mid layer legacy fleece/wind shear 1/4 zip, this vest as the unsulator and the Whitetail Extreme parka... perfect combination that can be taken on and off to fit the conditions.
