awesome pants
Date:
Good pants, I like the bottom leg cuff that snaps and velcos to keep snow out of my boot. Side zippers are handy for quick on/off however make sure to tuck in your shirt as the zipper was digging into my hip some. Made it a sore 1st time wearing them. Once I tucked shirt in I had no problems with the top zipper digging in. Kept me warm blowing snow for over 8 hrs with Cabelas ecwacs polars on underneath! Overall a 5 star product with the exception of the zipper issue! I would highly reccomend these to anyone who works outside or for playing with the kids, sleddin, ice fishing....

I was torn between being recommending or not
Date:
Cabela's Dry-Plus Thinsulate Pants are warm and they will keep you dry but I had some problems with mine. First the side zipper that runs up each leg goes all the way to the hip. This in it's self is not a problem but there is no padding on the inside of the pants between the hard zipper ( the moving part that zips ) and your body. This is not a problem if you're wareing a thick shirt or pile sweater tucked into the pants but it wouldn't have hurt to add some padding to separate the zipper from the body making the pants more comfertable. The second problem I had with the pants is the nylon materal that lines the pants is very slippery and they tend to slide down. The pants have a belt but when tightened enough to keep the pants from sliding they become uncomfortably tight. The above mentioned zipper is also under the belt making it dig into your hip that much more. Tightening the belt also compresses the loft of any sweater you have tucked into the pants causing a cold spot. I solved this problem by adding a pair of work suspenders. The pants now stay up in comfort. Having experienced these two design flaws, if I had it to do over again I would NOT purchase these pants. I should have gone with a better designed insulated bib. You know we can make do with just about anything but if you're going to go to the trouble of making something, make it right the first time.

Everything I was looking for
Date:
Bought these to replace an old pair that had ripped out while bending over. Wanted a pair for winter activities, snowshoeing, ice fishing, etc. These have features I was looking for, built in gator, adjustable waist, insulated, zippered legs on top and bottom, water proof via Dry Plus, beathable. Excellent! just a pair of thermal underware in -2 degrees ice fishing, standing around and stayed warm all day. Went on a 4 mile snowshoe hike in 20 degrees and deep snow. When I got hot, I zipped down the legs on top and cooled down. Legs were dry due to the breathability of the Dry Plus. Gator worked perfectly. I recommend them.
