As advertised, it does open bottles. It is also nice and wide. The length of the belt can be reduced by cutting it and burning the cut end to stop it from raveling. I ordered the wrong color by mistake, wanted "jewel tone" instead of "stepping stone." As it turns out, the reverse side of the "stepping stone" belt is a nice checked pattern of black, reddish brown, and olive green. Because the belt (when buckled) covers the place where the buckle is sewn to the belt, the belt can be worn either way without exposing the "wrong" color to the front. When the checked side is to the front, the buckle is in the wrong position to open a bottle without unbuckling the belt. With the stepping stone pattern to the front, the buckle does open a bottle without the need to unbuckle. I tried it both ways during the writing of this review, making this a 2 beer review. Either way it looks awkward to open a bottle this way, but at the fishing camp, who will complain? It would probably pass muster for Mardi Gras etiquette, as well. I like it and think I will wear it often, but I will still use my wall mounted bottle opener around the house.

Great All Around Belt

This belt does not' bind or pinch while involved in most any outdoor event. It is comfortable enough to wear while golfing and looks good with different shirts or shorts. The buckle is an eye catching extra that gets interesting comments from admirers. This is the belt I needed most in college when I arrived at all of those parties. It is the kind of belt that moves when you move but still holds the pants up while doing work or play. Infinite settings makes this belt a keeper. I will buy another.

This is my third Bison belt, but the first that opens a bottle of beer and does it well. It's a tall belt that fills the belt holes. Considering that I've had bison belts for a many year I can tell you they do not wear out. To make it even better, it's made in Colorado. Thank You Cabela for picking up this belt.
