A simple addition to the warmth equation.

This really helps seal the neck both in the front at the zipper and prevents the wind from getting down the back of your neck. It's long enough that it can be pulled up to cover your mouth and cheeks. When combined with a good stocking hat, there isn't much of your face left exposed to be cold.

It does not fit snug like a knit neck gaiter but it is very warm. I like mine very well so far. It will still fog your glasses up if you pull it up around you nose but I have never had one yet that doesn't.

This neck gator was a perfect size in circumfrance (it wasn't too tight or loose) and perfect length to be used over my nose or just under my chin without creating too much bulk. I shot several arrows with the gator over my mouth & up to my nose and it didn't affect shot accuracy.

I'm a big fan of the outfitter pattern for northern hunting after it gets cold. It's a much better fit among the browns and grays of November than most patterns incorporating green. That said, you need to bundle up. Whether you're wearing a hood, mask or hat, the neck is always a tricky spot to block from a wind in your face. This gaiter solves the problem. It's comfortable and generously cut for ease of overlapping with other layers. It is also sturdily constructed - difficult to get a pin through. It will allow moisture to build up if you're breathing into it, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a layer that doesn't. Happy with the purchase and I'll continue using.
