excellent broadhead
Date:
I've been using the Rocket Sidewinder and Mini-Blasters in 75gr for over 10 years with excellent results. I've killed over 12 deer with these broadheads, and have always had good results. Coming from a fixed-blade background, I was initially skeptical, but I am now very comfortable with shooting these mechanicals. They provide good blood trails, even when I didn't get a pass thru. I've had some pass-throughs and some that didn't (depending on angle of shot and what and where I hit). My bow shoots around 280 fps @ 67#. The big thing to watch for is arrow ballance and good shot placement.

Not great

These broadheads fly like field points! These also do not open up until they are through the hide of a deer! If you dont get a pass through shot you will have almost no blood trail. I did have two pass through shots but blades broke off of the head and only left a 1" slit and also very minimal blood trail. I did recover two of the three deer due to them following a very beaten down trail. The third the coyotes left me with a pile of bones to find by combing crp fields after a non pass through shot and only two drops of blood. In theory these are supposed to leave a large entry and exit hole but they didn't do that in my trial of them.
