Use this compass to determine azimuths or bearings, orient a map, determine location of a terrain feature or follow a course. The dial is graduated in degrees and Mils, and the ruled scale helps plot a course. Tritium provides self-illumination. A nylon lanyard and carrying case are included.
A rare dissappointment from Cabela's. If this is what our troops have had to use, no wonder why gps was developed. The dial sticks more often than not. Will be returning for a refund or exchange to a different compass.
I have seen this used my many military branches and i have to say this works great, this takes the cold the heat the water the rough terrain. I have taken this on more than 15 hikes over couple hundred miles and this has never failed me.. little hard to get accustomed how to hold it with your thumb, and the button on the carrycase is super hard to open, still. Yet, that is great problem to have, so it wont out when tied to your shoulder strap. I would recommmend this and it wont fail you.
I found the product to do as advertised and easy to use in the woods and on the lake. i have purchased several other brands and they didn't last or preform as promised.
