Beautiful and there's a hidden suprise!
Date:
I bought this ottoman to go with the wingback chair that I also bought here on-line at Cabela's. It's simply beautiful and fits perfectly with the chair. The quality of craftsmanship is far better than anything I could get at a furniture store locally. No one could even come close. I even took in a photo of the Cabela's ad and still no one could match the item. If you are looking to get the wingback chair, don't skimp and not get the ottoman.
And the hidden suprise? It's a storage ottoman! I don't know why that isn't mentioned in the description, but as of this writting, it isn't. The top comes off to reveal a storage area large enough to stow a throw, a book or two, the remotes for the TV, ceiling fan or fireplace, etc...
If I could change anything, I would replace the wooden feet with something that isn't turned on a lathe. To me, lathe turned pieces of wood do not say, "Rustic" to me. Too refined for my personal taste. I've taken great care to NOT have any turned wood pieces in my home but I made an exception with this ottoman and it's accompanying chair. Maybe someday I'll make my own feet for it out of scrap log or something, birch bark, hickory bark. Something that's more in keeping with the rustic beauty of a cabin home.
