Merrell® Chameleon III Stretch Hikers

These light hikers are up to camp and trail duty as well as any recreation in town. The Stretch has Lycra?/neoprene four-way stretch collars and tongues with an adjustable elastic cord lacing system for a super-comfortable fit that moves with your feet. Breathable leather and mesh uppers, injection-molded TPU heels and instep stability arms, 4.5mm anatomical footbeds and In-Board? compression-molded EVA footframes with tapered nylon insoles molded to the bottoms. They also have Merrell Air Cushions for comfort and 4mm lug depth on their Vibram? Chameleon rubber outsoles. Imported. Average weight: 2.1 lbs. per pair. Men's sizes: 8-14 medium width. Half sizes to 12. Color: Kangaroo.

"I am a construction manager and these have almost totally replaced my Danner Workboots. They have held up well (which I questioned after reading a few previous reviews). The only problem I have found is that the turned up runners toe tends to separate from the actual shoe body. I'm sure shoe goo would fix it but hey, their almost two years old and about time to buy another pair anyway. To this day I still get compliments either in the office or in the field."

Chameleon III no match for Chameleon II, August 20, 2009

"I loved my Chameleon II's and was hoping to enjoy the Chameleon III, but unfortunately the stiff plastic heel counter cuts into the back of my Achilles tendon like a knife. I've made them tolerable by cutting out the stiff plastic which allows a little flexability and has made the shoes less painful.
I wish Merrell would return to the II design."
