Excellent value for your money,March 13, 2010
By Bill68from New Brunswick, Canada
"Purchased the brickhouse ground blind in July 2009 and used it for the entire month long deer season in NB, Canada. I am satisfied with this blind for the price. It is not fully waterproof but there was only once when it rained hard enough for drips to form on the inside and get on me. Most of the time in moderate to light rain you stay dry. Easy to set up and take down with minimal practise, video clip on the Ameristep website was nice to get the idea of the proper way to set up/tear down. Lots of room to put a comfortable lawn chair inside. Have had no problem with zippers or windows so far. I was disappointed that the window screens were held in place with noisy velcro as I thought that they were held by magnets. perhaps there is some confusion between what Cabelas is selling and what it says on the Ameristep website. This is minor though as I usually leave the windown screens in place for better concealment and just poke my gun barrel out the hole in the front. I never used the additional tie down ropes much as I just staked down the corners and it stayed in place. I was a little concerned about it blowing away at night in a windstorm but it stayed put. Set up and tear down are so easy that I just packed it up when I was finished hunting for the weekend. Anyway I feel that it is a good deal for the price that they are asking.

Good Blind,February 28, 2010
By bigtom6from Southwest Wisconsin
"I like this blind because it has shoot thru windows and there is a lot of room because the sides pop out. You can open and close the windows silently too. The only thing I don't like about this blind is that the windows are a little small but I don't think it will matter that much"

Brickhouse blind,January 31, 2010
By sgtrock548from Scott city Kansas
"I think it is pretty good blind I used it last year for deer season 2009 in the KDWP wilderness area it's along a creek bottom its about 100yds in one spot and then 50yds in other spots.I've set it up there and it worked pretty good how I know it works I've had young bucks come with in about 5 to 10 yards of the blind but they were to young to shoot and it improve the concealment with branches and dead leaves so I can say it works. But I think it can use a wind skirt to help with warmth and scent cover."

Brickhouse Blind,January 22, 2010
By Muleslayerfrom TN
"I am fairly satisfied with the Brickhouse blind I just purchased. My only complaint would be that the discreption says it has magnetic mesh windows and it does not. It has velcro like most do. The magnetic part was a selling point to me and I am dissapointed that it did not have this feature. I like the ease of set up and take down and over all features of the blind for the price. I first ordered the doghouse blind and was not happy with it so I returned it and ordered the Brickhouse. The doghouse was to small and again the discreption says nothing about having to add poles inside for the roof. I did not want to have to add these poles in the woods in the dark. If the info had said anything about the poles I would never have ordered it to begin with. I like the hub style of the Brickhouse and the overall size but if it had come with the magnetic windows as described I would have given it 5 stars."

Brickhouse Blind,November 27, 2009
By Fyrmannfrom Northwest Illinois
"The first tiem I used the blind was the third day of the season, carrying it 3/4 of a mile was not bad with the shoulder straps, although they did tend to dig into my shoulders a bit, set up was easy and quite. Compared to my last blind it was very nice to have the added room and the mesh did not affect my shot in taking my first deer of the season. She knew something was there but was not sure what it was before I took her at 16 yds. Cant beat the price!"

Velcro,October 24, 2009
By swptfrom west texas
"The brickhouse lots of room, but also lots of velcro for the mesh, and when you close the primary windows it has a elastic catch in which you dont get a good seal it allows light and a breeze through the blind which makes it hard when Bow hunting with a light breeze and the material seems a little weak, But it should be fine for rifle season but I am having a little bit of problems with bow hunting."

easy setup/roomy/lots of windows,October 22, 2009
By sgtbowhunterfrom Northern Michigan
"This blind is easy to set up once you do it like the instructions say. With practice, it should take no more than 30 seconds to set the blind up. Once set up, it is nice and roomy on the inside. Plenty of room for 2 people. The camo finish is very nice. It should blend in to most hunting areas nicely. I did notice the holes some guys have talked about near the top of the roof where the brush loops are sewed on. I put some shoe goo on the seam (thin coat) and no more holes. I am also going to put a thin coat of camp dry on the roof and upper part of the walls just in case. The blackout lining is nice and the material seems thick enough to me. I have never hunted out of one of the several hundred dollar blinds so the other ones I have seen were in the same price range and the fabric was similar. The windows are big enough to shoot a bow through and there is a hole in the middle of the bigger ones so you can shoot a gun out of it. That is a nice feature. The windows have shoot through mesh that is velcro and would be noisy to adjust in the woods. I plan on mostly using this for a rifle blind so no problem for me. The window flaps have buttons that you fasten them closed with. This makes them quiet but not airtight like a zipper would. Blind fits nicely in included bag and folds down super easy. Much easier than the doghouse sounds to be. This blind should provide many years of comfortable service if taken care of."

brickhouse blind,October 12, 2009
By nebohunterfrom russellville, arkansas
"this is a great blind, but i don't recomend bow hunting out of it. i missed a 10 point buck this w/e. i feel the reason is becuase i was shooting thru the shoot thru mesh and it defected my flight of my arrow. other than that a good blind with plenty of room a conceilment. i won't be bow hunting out of this anymore unless i come up with a different idea. first time to bow hunt out of a blind and as far as i can tell the last."

"Purchased the blind, used it the first time 2 days later hunting in the rain...well I didnt get wet at all, but it leaks ALL throughout the blind, not like pouring just slow running down the side of the walls. But like seriously, EVERY little whole you see from the sewing, water WILL seap through, the material is VERY THIN. But other than that, theres plenty of room. My wife and I actually bought 2 camo fold out chairs and put in there and still plenty of room! But I am overall pleased!"

Buyer beware,September 26, 2009

"I bought this blind to use during Ca. rifle season. Set up the blind, liked the way it looked. Went to take it down and pole snapped. Very hard to find parts to fix. This was not from improper use as I was being extremely careful."

Ameristep Brickhouse Blind,August 25, 2009
By Chris89from Dayton, OH
"Great product overall, especially for the price. Plenty of room for yourself and equipement, you can get the kids in there with you if you wanted to take them. Setup is quick, but you will need to practice it a few times. Lots of room in carry bag to add a chair or extra clothes. Only downside I can see; my brother has a different ground blind and the material is thicker. So only time will tell if that will become an issue about the durablity of the cloth."

Purchase with caution,August 5, 2009
By shooterTEXfrom Texas
"I purchased this blind last fall to get into some hard to access deer trails. The blind is convenient and large enough to accomodate one person or two, and room for gear. However, my big problem with this blind is all the velcro! there is almost 2 dozen velcro windows (each window plus its mesh insert. If you are like me; you cant just position the windows one way and leave them like that. Every day requires adjustments to the windows. Especially during the hunt. There is so much noise from the tearing of velcro no matter how careful or slow you are the noise is tremendous. Magnets would be key to this blind. So if this doesnt bother you one bit, then its a good blind."

Good For the money,August 1, 2009
By tdillingerfrom Pittsburgh, PA
"Setup is easy, camo pattern excellent, and enough room to move around with plenty of viewing windows. uses toggles on windows as well as velcro. Not a fan of velcro, however once you lower or remove the screen (held by velcro) it works very well because the main window blind uses toggles. So opening and closing is quite easy. Material seems a tad thin but I believe it will weather for a few seasons. It is not top of the line like other products but it will work well for the dollar spent."

"This blind looks very good in the woods. Have not got a chance to hunt in it yet. Set up was very easy. I also like the straps at the top to put tree branches in there for more cover. The windows are alot quiter to take down than the zip up ones. All in all a great blind and i cant wait to hunt in it."
