"The day i got my new uglystick i took it fishing. i was very impressed and didn't expect anything less knowing it was an ugly stick. the only down fall to this product is the reel, it isn't for heavy duty. overall i really am enjoying my purchase!"

"My girlfriend is enjoying her e UGLY STICK COMBO. We have fished lakes and streams with it here in Oregon and she says it is a real delight in casting and she can really tell when a fish is starting to play with her bait. "I bought the spinning combo with the EZ-cast reel for my girlfriend. I have not had a chance to fish with it since I don't want to be seen in public with a pink rod and reel. However with that being said, I must say that if it weren't pink, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and regular "Man's" combo. The rod and reel do not seem any smaller to me. The rod is decent quality and is what you would expect from an Ugly Stik. The reel is ok, but seems to have little in anti-reverse qualities. When you stop reeling, the spool can still travel backward about half a turn. This is not good if your female fishing partner is prone to snags, tangles, backlashes, etc. This is by no means a bad product. It's a good price for a decent rod/reel combo that donates money to a good cause. It's just not that outstanding."
