"I used fabric softner in the dryer and it made a big difference in comfort, no longer scratchey. Very comfortable and warm next to the skin. I can not tolorate anything itchey but had no problem with this product. I was very satisfied. I got the bottoms also, both were on sale!"

"I purchased this product. It is warm, but the bottoms and top "pill" in areas where the fabric rubs against your body or other clothing. This causes the fabric to become thin."

"This shirt only gets bad reviews because it's described wrong. If you wear it next to your skin, it does itch. Just wear something under it and you will love it. It is very warm, dries fast, and does a great job of not holding odors. The merino wool top and bottoms are great, I couldn't be happier as long as I wear something under them."

"Baselayer is slightly itchy - I have a high tolerance for wool directly against my skin, so this may be uncomfortable for some. Kept me warm, dried quickly and did not retain any odor even after I wore it for a few days. Moderately expensive, but seems to be constructed well."

"I live 300 yards from the base of the north side of Mont Tremblant Ski area in Northern Quebec, and it gets VERY cold at the top of the 2185ft ski hill at 7:30 am when the chairlift opens. Below -15 degress with wind is more common than unusual. This garment is well fitted, warm and comfortable! I Could not be more pleased! for the price, you will never do better! NB: it is scratchy if you have sensitive skin, my wife has to wear a layer of Lifa or another tight fitting layer beneath it. No big deal to do, and well owrth the extra warmth!"

"Got these for my honey. They are a denser weave of merino wool than others we own but they are itchy unlike the other brands we have. Have yet to find what I consider "Heavy Weight" merino wool although these are the heaviest I've found yet. Good product but description not quite accurate. Just layer these over something softer & you'll probably like them."

"I am a very serious southern Illinois bowhunter. The weather changes often, but it is not uncommon for mornings in the mid-20s as early as mid-November. I use multiple layers to keep warm, as the heavy outerwear makes it difficult to shoot a bow. The Heavyweight Merino Wool is a great product. The warmth to weight ratio is about as good as it gets, and because it is not bulky you can easily get other layers on over it. I highly recommend it."

"I've hunted for 35yrs...And nothing beats wool for combined wicking moisture and holding warmth. This top fills the bill and is fairly priced. Didn't receive five stars because for 100% merino wool, it was a bit scatchy next to the skin. Would use a light synthetic top under this top for maximum comfort."
