"I've tested a half a dozen of different brands, but I've been badly disappointed. Reliability and trigger speed have been real issue. So far the Reconyx has been the only camera that you can rely on. It has done it's job without any doubt. The only con is the high price."

"I love this camera. I've used Cuddeback and Predator previous to my purchase of this camera and they can't touch it. I love the covert infrared, cannot see the flash and does not spook deer at all. Works great with a python cable (a must given the investment you make). The walk by test is great. The light is very bright and it is easy to see if you have the camera positioned correctly. Trigger speed is outstanding, picture quality is great. You have to realize you will get somewhat lower quality pictures at night with the covert IR. Took almost 600 pics on my first set of regular C batteries (qty 6) and was only at 75%. That is outstanding. Also, file size of the pics is great, you can get away with a bit smaller CF card as compared to the predator.
I use this camera to scout trails. I don't put it over bait or have it looking out over a field. Trigger speed is critical. The covert IR is also great for this.
I was about to give up on game cameras all together. I couldn't find one that worked like it should. I'm glad I got over the price and just took the plunge. Well worth it."

"I bought this camera about a month ago and I have to say it blows other cameras out of the water. I used to have a moultrie gamespy i40 and I always had deer looking into the camera and looking as if they had been spooked. I have yet to have any deer look into the camera. I had 4 bucks, 2 shooters, on camera a week ago. They were anywhere from 40ft away to 5ft away and none of them ever looked in the camera. It's deadly silent and the pics are great. Only drawback on it is the night time pics. If the deer are out there to about 30-40 feet you really only get an outline of the deer. We had a few deer on camera that were hard to see exactly what they were because of this. Camera really gets 4.5 stars but it beats anything else out there."

"This is my first game camera. It does everything very well.
My only regret is perhaps I should have ponied up the extra bucks for the HO model, for longer night IR flash range. I use it more as a rural security camera than a game camera, although I do use it for both purposes.
The pictures, day and night, are sharp and clear over a wide range of distances. It has no "wake-up" delay, so it starts firing immediately. Sensitivity is excellent. It will pick up movement as small as a bird or mouse in front of it, yet it has very few firings that I can't see in the pictures what might have set it off.
I can not only lock the camera to a tree with a cable, I can also lock the access door to prevent people from getting at the memory card. Battery life so far (summer) has been excellent. The adjustable bungee that comes with the camera works well and is useful.
It has a wide range of programmable options, so you can make it behave just as you want. I use the "Rapid Fire" mode; it is excellent and will give me 10 pics 3 seconds apart every time it sees movement. You can program it for a delay of no delay between firings, how many pics get taken with each firing, time between pics, etc. The "walk test" mode is very handy for getting it aimed just right.
Its only drawback as a security camera is that the lens covers, especially the large one for the IR flash, are shiny and can be noticeable at the right angle. The camo pattern on the housing works well. I generally add vegetation around it as further camoflage when I place it.
It's one of the few game cameras that does not have a red telltale glow, which would not be good at all for security purposes, and would result in the camera being stolen or vandalized.
This is considered the Cadillac of game cameras, and I can see why it has that reputation.
I've only had it a few weeks, and it's already been indispensable in providing essential evidence in a police case."

"Purchased this wonderful camera and found it very easy to program, easy instructions, and easy to place on a tree in the woods with a cable and lock. I had night time pictures of many deer the very first week...clear night time pictures with lots of detail. The daytime pictures were super nice, clear and crisp. The deer were actually curious about the new camera in the woods and I have several super close pictures of bucks and does...the camera taking pictures of the deer did not seem to bother the deer at all. Super nice product...I am glad I went with this brand."

"DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE RECONYX RC60! I have to give this unit one star because it was so pricey as compared to other cameras with comparable features. I fell for all the hype and purchased one. The nightime range is supposed to be 30 feet but is more like 10 feet with new batteries. If your batteries get to 50% power all you will have are black pictures. This unit eats batteries! If you use a 2gb memory card you will have to change the batteries each time your card is full, as often as weekly from my experience. I have a No Flash Cuddeback camera that I also use and in comparison for the 3 months I used both cameras I never had to change the batteries in the Cuddeback and Changed the Reconyx batteries 7 TIMES! Also the Cuddeback has an exceptional nighttime range. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE RECONYX RC60!"

"Dependable. Efficient. Amazing. I have owned other trail cameras throughout my day and was never hooked on any one single brand. I just recently purchased my second Reconyx. It is truly unbelievable how it can go from being in sleep mode and using hardly any battery to fully awake and snapping a picture per second as fast as you can blink. Never before have I had a picture of a deer running past the camera and now I get two or three before it gets by. I live in Wisconsin and leave my cameras out year round. I am still snapping pictures in 20F below zero temperatures, not to mention the long lasting battery life, even with cheaper alkaline batteries! This camera may seem expensive, but it is worth every penny!"

"I have had 5 other trail cams and nothing comes close to this product. Ofcourse non of the others came close with their price tag either. If you are going to put the time in to monitor trail cams....don't waste your time with any other camera. This camera can do anything you want it to. It takes pictures so fast that you will get 2 to 3 pics of running deer. I just got this cam and put it out Jan 5th with brutal cold temps. I left it out for 12 days and still had 85 % battery life..and that was with lows below zero. It took 300 pics in the time I had it out. Night pics were dull...but with the temps it was expected. I hope I can afford another one someday...but right now I can't wait for july to get it in the woods. Might even use it to scout turkey...but they are already as easy to shoot as fish in a barrell."

"I bought this camera due to the other ratings that I had read and the poor results I've had from Moultrie. I have walked past moultrie cameras and the picture wasn't even taken. This camera takes three clear pictures from one side of the field of vision to the other and countless pictures of deer day and night with no flash or glow. One other thing I really like is the Lithium AA battery option. The batteries don't do dead in cold weather like the regular ones and last a lot longer. My construction business has benefited also. I have used it to monitor material piles on job sites and have detered theft while keeping the cameera locked up and safe with the optionsal utility box and python lock. Great camera!"

"I have used the Reconyx RC60 continuously for the past 7 months to monitor logging jobs for timber theft and vandalism. It has worked without a hitch, and after thousands of photos I am only on the second set of batteries. The covert flash is just what I needed so it was not detected by other people. The night time photos do not have the range I hoped for, but are good out to about 30 feet. I am happy to report that there has been no theft or vandalism, the camera gives me some peace of mind."

"Yes, this camera takes a little more buck to get the bang, but the bang is well worth it. I have compared this camera to a older Moultrie camera and it is black and white. The Reconyx takes hundreds and thousands of more picturers than my Moultrie, and the pictures are good quality. I ususally can get 3000 pictures off of my alkaline batteries. Definitely a great camera. I had a really nice buck bed down in front of the camera by a scrape for 4 hours. The buck had no idea what was even happening."

"I found the Reconyx as a result of terrible results from one of the other leading camera manufacturers. I am still trying to get that camera to provide some reasonable service to no avail. The battery life is zilch. I was about to give up on the idea of a functional game camera when... Enter the Reconyx RC60. Wow! in the first six days of use I managed to identify 6 different bucks, a bobcat, a coyote, and a fox. The does were too numerous to count. It takes reasonable definition night photos and the animals haven't a clue it is working. I got one giant blacktail buck scrathing his ear in front of the camera giving a grand display of his spread and horn height. I love the ease of setup, recovery of the memory card and battery life. In the three weeks since this camera has been in operation it has captured nearly 500 photos both day and night with the expenditure of 3% of the memory card space and 6% of the battery life. I am so impressed I am going to leave it set up to see just how long it will operate on just the original 6 C cell alkaline batteries. Don't even think about the price tag. YOU get what you pay for and in this case the real deal not some funky unit that burns batteries like kids playing with a flashlight. Get one and hold on for the ride."

"I purchased the Reconyx RC60 primarily for night time photos. The daylight photos were great, but the night photos were terrible. The unretouched photos came out totally black. When I auto corrected the photos using photo shop software they would lighten up but were so grainy that you could just barely recognise an animal in the picture. You could not see if it was a buck or a doe. Very unsatisfactory."
