"I have had the IR7SS camera two weeks, and do not have one acceptable photo. The night photos are significantly overexposed. Day and night photos are blurred with animal movement.
I called Leaf River customer service and got the run around: the animals were too close, the angle of the mounting was wrong, the pictures weren't overexposed, etc.
I have a Bushnell, Moultrie, and Cuddeback also set up in identical configurations. While none is perfect, I would choose any over the Leaf River.
It's going back for a refund.,"

"After experimenting with various brands I went back to buying Leaf River Trail cameras. They're very rugged with good metal mounting brackets and can be secured to a tree with a lockable cable. Picture / video quality is as good as any day and night.
I recently bought 2 IR models and I'm completely satisfied with them. Once you work through the setup and start using them they take excellent stills and videos. It's a relief having cameras that don't miss shots like the others I've had. Even my older L.R.'s are still working while some of the others I tried recently are now junk.
I only needed service one time and they were easy to work with but not real speedy. The camera came back and has worked perfect ever since."

"I got this camera for my birthday in july and have been using it ever since. I haven't changed batteries yet. The pictures are great. The sensor has good rangein daylight hours. At night it only gets clear pictures out to about 10 yards. Will pick up eyes and partial outlines of deer past that. I am pleased with this camera and compared to the others this one is way better. Hope to get another next year."

"This is the best camera I have owned because I find the triggering, picture quality and the quick shot features better than the others. What's really nice is the large LCD screen and the 90 second movies with sound.
In my opinion there must be a serious disconnect between the Leaf River engineers that designed the camera and the marketing people that are selling it. The instructions are really lacking.
The camera has three features not discussed. (1) You can make MP3 voice recordings in the field with this camera to make notes or other voice records. (2) You can take manual daylight or IR pictures or movies using the LCD screen and a shot button. (3) And the instructions suggest you can only take daylight movies, while you can take IR movies too. These are all good things that should be discussed.
The disappointing negative I found is the camera is not a true 7 megapixel, rather it is a interoplated 3 megapixel as I was informed by a Leaf River tech rep. I caught on to this when I looked at my first pictures and realized the file size was too small and the quality was not there for a 7 MP, so I asked."

"I have had the camera out about 3 weeks it took 21 pictures. The pictures are clear. The batteries still show full charge. The night pictures are black and white but are very clear. It is also very water proof. I would recommend this camera to everyone."

"Had to send the firsat camera back because it would not operate properly. Just received the replacement today and have it set up, so far it appears to be working. Cabelas did a terrible job packing the camera for shipment. Hardly any cushion material around the camera. You could shake the box and tell the camera was not secure, rattled around inside. One corner of the metal frame is bent a bit from shipping. Can give a better evaluation after I have used for a week or so!"

We are using this camera for security purposes in our family scrap yard, within a week i had good enough quality pictures of this thief, and patterned when he came in the yard and was arrested shortly after... "SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH A CHEAPER INFARED MODEL. THIS UNIT SOMEWHAT DIFFICULT TO USE, THE ON/OFF SWITCH IS IN THE WORST PLACE (on the bottom) IF YOUR USING A BEAR BOX (mine is placed in bear territory). I HAVE TO PLACE SPACERS ON BOTTOM TO KEEP THE SWITCH FROM BEING TURNED OFF WHEN I PLACE IT IN THE BEAR BOX. I HAVE MINE SET TO TAKE 60 sec. VIDEO CLIPS WHICH ARE DIFFICULT TO BURN TO A DISK LATER. THE TV CABLE DOES NOT WORK, SOMETIMES I GET VIDEO BUT NO SOUND. AND WHEN CALLING MANUFACTURER FOR HELP YOUR PUT ON HOLD TILL SOMEONE CAN HELP YOU. DO SOME MORE RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING THIS MODEL.

"This is a great camera. I purchased it about 1 month ago. We feed deer whole corn about 20 feet from our back porch. I have the camera set to take a picture every one minute it detects motion. We have great pictures of bucks who come at night. I have about 750 pictures already. Great color in daylight and black & white at night. It even records pictures of crows and morning doves that come for a free meal. So simple to set up and operate. Still using the first set of batteries. Well worth the cost."

"For someone looking for an all around good camera this one is for you. Picture quality is really good as long as the animals are not moving real fast. Some of the pictures seem to turn out blurry, but with any camera, all pictures won't turn out perfect. Camera speed could be a bit faster, but for the most part every picture has something in it. The battery life on this camera is very good. This season I have had it out for about seven weeks now and still I have not changed the batteries. I thought this camera was worth the money."
