"Its a good beginners bow. Its a little slow, but it still will easily launch an arrow at a deer. Its really loud and it vibrates when you let the arrow fly, but if you put Limbsavers on the limbs it will help a lot. But for a beginner its a fantastic bow, especially to learn the sport."

"I'm very pleased with the quality of the bow. It is a step up from other youth bows I've seen. The fact that this bow can grow with him makes the bow worth the extra money. The accessories are decent also, especially the sight pins. In less than an hour my 9 year old was shooting 3" groups with confidence. He loves it!"

"I have my bow set at 23in draw length and 50lb draw weight. I am using easton axis 500 arrows,blazer vanes,lumenoks, and g5 tekanII....The bow is fast,quiet,and gets good penetration...I shot a buck at 24yds quartering away from me,had awesome penetration hit him behind his ribs on back left side and exited in front of his right front shoulder...."

"I bought this bow for my son for Christmas two years ago. Best gift I could have ever gotten him. It has been a great first compound bow. He hunts with it and target shoots and it has performed very well to date. I called Parker this week to check into the Grow with Parker Program and they were very helpful. For $50 they will adjust the bow from 30/40 to 40/50 lb. What a value added program that no other bow manufacturer I know of offers. Great idea on their part to build brand loyalty. I would suggest this bow to anyone I know. I plan to buy one for my younger son next year. Great service, great price, and while you can buy it in many places Cabela's is the only place I would recommend. The bow arrived a few days before Christmas; however there was a slight defect to it. I called Cabela’s and explained this was a Christmas gift to my son and the defect prevented him from shooting it right away. After hearing that Customer Service overnighted a new bow to me at no charge so I would have it in time for Christmas. What else can you ask for? Who else do you know who would do that two days before Christmas? The Cabela Brothers have built a customer service network that far surpasses any other major retailer I’m aware of. That combined with a great bow for youth or beginners makes a terrific combination."

"I bought the Parker Buck Shot Bow for my 12 year old son after thoroughly investigating all of the youth bows available. The "Grow up with Parker" program is an excellent fringe benefit of this bow. The bow set up very easily and my son was shooting good groups out to 20 yards within 30 minutes. I was debating about which draw weight (30-40 or 40-50) and chose the 30-40 lb draw range. Glad I did. I had to set the bow to 33 lbs. before my son could shoot it with proper form. Overall, great bow and expect many years of service."

"The bow was easy to shoot. Mine is a 30-40lbs. The upgrade to 40-50lbs limbs is a great deal. Adding a vibration damper/stabilizer helped. So much fun to shoot my husband wants a bow now. Am getting up to 40lbs to go Elk hunting this year. The Cabelas associate in Post Falls, ID. did an excellent job with outfitting me. I have had the bow only 45 days, with 5 inch shot groups now. Perfect bow for a beginner. Easy to adjust for poundage and pull length. No bow press required."

Great bow for beginners,March 19, 2008

"My husband bought me this bow in October of 2007 hoping that I would be able to get out and hunt that year. It took no time at all for us to sight the bow in and get me up in the tree stand. Got my first buck in November! What an awesome job the Parker Buckshot did. I would highly recommend it for any woman or youth just starting out. We didn't want to spend a ton of money but still wanted a decent bow. This bow fit the bill. My only complaint would be that the tubing that holds the peep sight broke after about 50 shots. We were able to fix it ourselves so not really a big deal. I would also recommend that anyone shooting the bow not use expandable broadheads. I was using them when I got my deer but due to the low poundage (40 lbs) that I was pulling, the broadhead didn't expand until it was completely inside the deer. It did a great job once inside but left an entry hole that looked like I'd shot it with a field tip. All in all I am very satisfied with the bow and can't wait until I can get out again this year."
