Squeeze the trigger on distant targets confidently, knowing your bullet will get the job done. By taking their Triple Shock X-Bullet (TSX) and improving it, the folks at Barnes created something spectacular. The addition of a polymer tip improves the TSX's already-deadly long-range capabilities. A re-engineered nose cavity expands quickly and destructively for "dead right there" performance. Like the TSX, it features a 100%-copper body with accuracy-enhancing rings cut into the shank.

"I am using these bullets in my 338 Win. Mag. Ruger mod. 77 Hawkeye with excellent results. With 68 grains of IMR 4350 I'm getting groups under 1/2" at 100 yds. and under 1" at 200 yds."

"this is may be my future go-to bullet. having had excellent accuracy and and performance from the tsx bullets i tried this one due to it's higher b.c. limited load development to date seems extremely promising. the only bullet i would consider replacing by tsx loads with."

THE BEST HUNTING BULLET,July 22, 2009
By SweetLipsNC
"1. Federal Large Rifle Primers 2. Remington Brass (NEW) 3. IMR 4320 48 grains 4. BARNES TSX 150 GR .308 Winchester
Seat bullet to 2.70 inches for OAL or overall length
Preferably shoot a Remington SPS Tactical with 20" barrell
Enjoy putting round after round after round thru the same hole at 100 yards and .25 at 300 yards. If you shoot whitetail they will fall without ever taking another step...round after round after round. Consistently THE BEST HUNTING BULLET in the world.
My friend who has reloaded 20 years gave me the recipe that he calls his masterpiece. Enjoy!"

"I tried these in a .300 RUM and .300 Wby Mag. They are longer than the older lead bullets like the accubond, but lead free is a draw. The RUM failed to group, and I finally stopped trying. Power is hard to get here. The .300 Wby grouped ok. When hunting, the bullet is deep penetrating, but does not open well. I get more damage from a .264 AB. However, if you have to use it, it can get reasonably accurate. Since it is longer, barrel twist must be 1-10 or better to stabilize the bullet."

Not Impressed,July 16, 2009
By Bubbaone
"Like another reviewer, I loaded this bullet to hunt hogs in Central Kalifornia due to the lead-bullet ban. I've used a .270 Win for 30+ years of hunting on both sides of the Atlantic with great results, but with lead-core bullets (mostly Hornady and Sierra) - accuracy and terminal effect has always been outstanding.
It took me 3 boxes of TSX (130 and 140 grain) 2 boxes of these TTSX bullets (130 grain) to find a load that would shoot to my expectations in my rifle (sub MOA). The seating depths, powder charges and powder selection were all different from my usual loads, and only one load out of a dozen shot acceptably and consistently. With lead-cores there was hardly ever an issue with any loading. The best accuracy was not at the higher velocities which are possible with the design of this bullet, but downloaded to conventional .270 speeds.
Off to hunting. Struck a 220 lbs sow at 150 yards through the upper leg and exited high lung on opposite side (upward angle shot). Hog ran downhill straight at me and away, had to put it down with a Texas shot from the rear to keep it from escaping into a high barley field. Still had to finish it a couple of minutes later with a head shot.
Penetration was complete, exit wound about an inch, good blood trail. But internal damage was minimal and I was not impressed with the lack of bullet fragmentation. I've taken the same shot dozens of times with lead cores and while I did not get complete penetration on hogs or heavy animals, they all went down hard with a few yards and expired quickly, with no follow up shots needed. These bullets do expand and penetrate, but they lack any degree of fragmentation to send secondary projectiles internally through the animal. The secondary fragmentation of a conventional bullet increases the immediate killing power.
Not a bad bullet, but not equal to the lead cores. Use it only if you have to."

"I bought a box of the bullets last summer. I worked up a load for my Savage 114 in .270 Win. over 47.5 grains of H4350. I use CCI LR primers and Win. brass. It was sub-m.o.a. at 100 yards. I went to Wyoming antelope hunting and dropped a nice fat antelope at approx 200 yds. I was unable to chronograph the loads as my chronograph was out for repairs. I would highly recommend these bullets. For me, they were more accurate than expected and worked well."

Captain,April 20, 2009

"For over 30 years I have been a Nosler fan. Loaded TSX 150 30cals. in my new 300 Win Mag. Outstanding accuracy. However, did not gain the 100 to 125ft./sec as advertised. I did gain about 70ft/sec. I must say that the ballistic coeffecient must be as advertised...these bullets are outstanding down range. Shot 25 at 450 yrds and could not believe the accuracy and small drop. I was shooting with my son who has two custom 300 H&Hs...out shot his 300 HH hands down...he is having me build him one exactally like mine. Then we put the bullet to the real test. Shot a 200 lb. hog at 125 yds. Put it through both shoulders and as advertised...exit hole was twice as large as the entry. The penetration is all they said it would be. The shock downed the hog immediately...he never moved. Did not recover the bullet; however. My only question is...how will the bullet work on South Texas white tails. I'll find out in November."

"This bullet performs very well. It is very accurate, expands well and has great weight retention. My search for a great hunting bullet has ended. The fail safe bullet was discontinued a few years ago and this is the first bullet to satisfy me with it's performance in years. The Barnes Tipped Triple-Shock X-Bullets are outstanding."

Tipped Tripple Shock,March 18, 2009

"Well, they look really cool. I used the 150 gr. 30 caliber tipped triple shock in a 300 WSM and had fair results. 1.4" average 3 shot groups at 100 yards. I get better group averages with the 150 gr TSX nontipped though, measuring 0.662" at 100 yards."

"I loaded Barnes TTSX 210gr, .338win mag for my New Mexico Oryx hunt. Now there's one tough animal.....First shot dropped her and I followed up with a second shot, because I've had game get away on me. Both shots were at 236yds.
I should of held off on the second one because Barnes TTSX did what it was supposed to do on the first shot. I got to give credit where credit is due. Now I know that I can make a "One Shot, One Kill""

168 gr. Barnes TTSX bullets,January 26, 2009
By ColoradoGrizfrom Mancos, CO
"These bullets shoot exceptionally accurately in my 300 WSM with Win. 760 and Varget powders. With a cool barrel they will shoot 3 shot groups at 100 yards of less than 1/2". I have not tried them on game yet but if they perform as well as the Barnes TSX I will be well satisfied."

"Great product! Sub M.O.A. at 100 yds with a hunting rifle, plus 3 one shot kills on MI swamp bucks! These bullets are 'as advertised'. Recommended to me by a fellow hunter / reloader who has seen the same results. Don't be afraid to get the lead out - the Bunny-huggers may have helped us with this one! Accurate and devastating, I am sold."

Great Bullet,January 13, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Fairbanks
"I loaded the 210 grain, .338 for my Rem 700 ultramag. Wow. 1/2" groups at 100 yards from the bench. I killed my caribou at 225 yards with one deadly shot. The exit hole was under 1", but there was not much left in the chest cavity. I load 91.5 grains of RL22, 215 primers and Rem brass. 2850 or so FPS with the muzzle ported. This was the best accuracy I found. More power made my groups open up a little. Speed is great, accuracy is better. See you in AK"
