"I thought the mount kit made for my ATV would make it all some what easy, wrong. The first thing I notice was the instruction were very poorly done. The 2nd problem and the bigest one of all, is it just didn't fit quite right with modification and buying different bolts I finally got it in. I feel if you want to go through all this you might as well build your own."

"After heeding the suggestions of the previous reviews, I purchased this product with the mounting kit. Mounting was easy. It probably took a little longer than necessary due to routing wires carefully and neatly. I did feel the negative wire could have been a little longer. Another 12 inches would have been great, but I was able to make it work. The instructions are a little sketchy, but a little studying and soon was on my way. It took me about 4 hours to mount the unit all together. I mounted a snow plow on the 4-wheeler at the same time, Kids and wife thought the combination was "awesome" and "cool". Not much use yet, but so far so good."

Winch mount not quite right,February 8, 2010

"The winch mount was ordered for a 2006 Suzuki King Quad, and I used it to install a Cabela's Superwinch LT2000 on the quad. The winch mount fit directly on the quad with no issues, however when the winch was mounted in place, the winch cable scraped against the front edge of the winch mount...not good. No amount of fairlead or winch adjustment would solve the issue, and I had to grind a significant amount of metal off of the winch mount in order to solve this problem. The winch and mount work well now, but in my opinion a customer should never have to do this on a winch mount that cost nearly $60. This is especially the case when the mount was advertised to be a direct fit."

"I ordered this for a 450 King Quad.
Installation was fairly easy. One of the bolt holes used to mount the mount to the frame was off a little. Not enough to make it unusable, but enough so that they didn't line up just right. Had to do a little extra drilling on the mount to get it to fit.
Once installed, was disappointed to find out that some of the plastic fascia on the front would have to be trimmed for the roller fair lead to fit. Something that could be easily fixed by the mount manufacturer by changing the angle of the fair lead mount slightly or even extending it to where it is front of the fascia.
Would not recommend this item, there are others out there that fit better."

"The mount kit needed some modifying, to fit my 99 big bear as the kit is a general mount, after that the rest was simple. The winch is used for plowing snow and with the switch on the handle bar is really easy to use its fast and with the brake the plow can be moved an inch ae a time, in northern WI the cold doesn't affect it"

"It was good except for the installation kit. Two of the holes were misaligned. By the time we figures out the problem, we just let it go. I hope that if it is ever used heavily, that it will hold up to a load."

"The products are just fine. The instructions for mounting could be a lot clearer. Some of the bolts provided could be 1/4 inch longer.
I would recommend this product but I would caution you the installation could take up to a half day or more. Also be prepaired to remove most of the body on the ATV"

"used this with the trail tammer extreme 2500 winch to mount on my 2009 grizzly 700 eps. It worked out great. the only modification I had to do was drill 4 holes on the back of it to mount the contactor. (on the grizzly there is no where else to mount it and my dealer told me the yamaha winch plate has you mount it there as well). great set up, cant wait to try it out plowing snow this winter."

"Purchased with Superwinch LT2000... it will work, and the holes DO line up (unlike some other reviews). BUT, the kit is obviously universal - the lower plate protrudes from the front bumper of my 2004 Sportsman... it actually carries the winch halfway out of the bumper pocket. If I were to run into anything, the first thing to make contact would be my winch... POOR POOR design."

"Instructions were very lacking in detail, had to trial fit most pieces to get in properly. Also, the mounting plate did not fit a Superwinch LT2000 that I also got at Cabelas, I had to modify the plate to get it to bolt up. Would not recommend to others in the future if you have other options for winch mount plates."
