The Plain Toe Chukka is part of Cabela's Basin Collection, our new series of premier rugged casual footwear. These shoes are constructed of rugged, oiled tumbled leather, a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® membrane, a lightweight and tough Vibram® Gumlite® outsole, anatomic polyurethane footbeds and a moisture-wicking lining. These shoes are also made with a Goodyear® welt construction process, which only the finest shoes and boots are made with for rock solid durability. You can be sure that your feet will stay dry and comfortable with the protection provided by the GORE-TEX membrane barrier and moisture-wicking lining.
Color: Dark Brown.
Men's sizes: 8-14 D width; 8-14 EE width. Half sizes to 12.

"Overall I am very satisfied with this boot. Left boot required very little break-in; right boot was initially VERY tight around the ball of the foot. This seemed to get much better after several days of use. Now, they are quite comfortable, but still a little stiff around the ankle. I don't wear daily, so break-in may be a little slower than typical.
Has 'speed' lacing at top of boot which makes them very easy to put on/off. My previous chukka's did not, which meant you had to loosen the laces every time. Design in these new chukka's is much better.
Been through several puddles & inches of snow - feet remained dry.
Not completely happy with traction on packed snow. This would probably be my biggest complaint, but it's a very minor issue."

"These boots are well made, the basic design is a good one and the price is right. However, they lack the comfort needed for extended every day wear. They have little arch support and are very narrow across the front of the foot. I have added arch support but this has increased the lack of fit in the front of the boot. Pick your poison, I guess. I admit that I am very particular about footwear but my feet are not unusually flat or wide. I will not be buying another pair."

"My only complaint of the Basin Plain Toe Chukkas is the same complaint of all Cabela's shoes - removable insole is too thin. I am forced to purchase an additional set of insoles and insert them in addition to the stock insoles. I am on concrete all day long and require a shoe with a longlasting outsole and I believe these shoes will hold out. They seem to be well constructed and ready to take on ten hour days. I've been wearing the Basin Plain Toe Chukkas now for 30 days and am very pleased."

"I purchased these boots for upland game hunting. They are basically very comfortable and not too heavy. They do run a little large so take that into consideration when ordering. I took them right from the box and wore them on a dove hunt. I like the lower height so that there are not as many laces."

"Great boot for the price. True to fit. One day break in time at the most. Love the soft low profile Vibram sole. You don't have to worry about dirt being stuck in the grooves. Stitching was off a bit in some places but does not effect the fit. I would buy again."

"I had high hope for this purchase as I have had mostly good luck with Cabelas products. However even though it seemed to be a satisfactory shoe with walking around the house and yard I put it aside for future hiking. When I finally got to use them for hiking duty I discovered the fit to be undesirable though I had worn size 9 W in the past with out problems. Also the shoe strikes the ground at an angle that makes me have to walk a bit flat-footed and that is very uncomfortable. I only made about three miles before deciding I could not wear these for hiking duty. Although they appear as nearly new I was on an extended vacation and did not get to try them until my return and I probably would be denied the opportunity to exchange these for another pair. I do like most Cabelas prducts but this time no!"
