Great for the money,March 4, 2010
By 91erfrom Milwaukee, WI
"I'm loading .223, .308, and .40 S&W with it. I've had no real problems with it and find it very versatile. Even the scale (which is chincey) works fine. I just upgraded to a digital to make my life easier."

Great Press,January 30, 2010
By sonofroosterfrom oHIo
"I have reloaded for several years now and have used Lee products exclusively. I started out with the Challenger press, then to the Classic Cast, and graduated to the Classic Turret Press. I have since got rid of the Challenger, kept the Classic cast for resize and deprime operations in .223, and for small quanity (30-06) reloading. I did lots of research on progressive and turret presses before making up my mind on the The Classic Turret Press. This product is just wonderful press, i don't know why I didn't start out with this model to begin with!!! I load .223 Remington, .38 spec, .357 magnum, and .45 ACP with ease and speed now. The Pro Auto Disk Measure is really nice and I did get the Double disk kit and am happy with how it works. The only drawback on any Lee product is the lack of detail in their printed instructions. But Lee does stand behind their products, I have sent several of their decapping pins back to the factory and they send new ones at no charge. There is an abundance of helpful video on Youtube for the Classic Turret Press as well. And as always, Lee products are not going to put you in debt, and the quality is just as good, if not better than some of the "other" presses on the market. Plus these presses just look darn good next to my MEC shotgun reloaders as well!!!"

A great reloading press at a great price.,January 25, 2010
By dangtsifrom Greenville, Pennsylvania
"I wanted a turrent press so I could feel each stage required pressure/movement and not have to change dies for each operation. The Classic Turrent press gives me everything I wanted in a reloading press. The price of the press and the four hole turrent is a lot of quality at a very reasonable price. The powder measure has worked flawlessly and the indexing has been perfect. The priming devices are easy to load and operate and the spent primers are always collected in the plastic tube below the press. Lee has another winner with this press."

Lee classic turret,January 20, 2010
By Anonymousfrom Arizona
"I don't normally write too many reviews, but I am so happy with the performance of this press. I first bought the Lee Pro 1000 and after setting it up which was a job all by itself. I was constantly having to re-adjust something or fix the primer system which in my opinion is very dangerous. I decided to give Lee another try with this press. It is not as automated, but it works and very well at that. I can actully reload faster on this press because I'm not having to fix it constantly. The primer system while looking very similar is like night and day. I know it looks cheap, but I can't believe how well it works. I have not had any problems or have had to do anymore adjustments after set-up. Make sure you buy the Lee CLASSIC turret press and not the DELUXE version. The CLASSIC is a little more money, but it is heavier and built stronger. Trust me buy this press, for the money you can't go wrong compared to some of the other brands that cost 2 or 3 times as much. I am finally starting to enjoy reloading with this press. Just stay clear of the Pro 1000 unless you have alot of extra hair you want to pull out."

POOR MACHINING ON TURRET,January 7, 2010
By greginmustangfrom Mustang, OK
"I just purchased my Lee Classic Turret Press kit and was quite satisfied with everything until I noticed the machining on the 4-hole turret that came with the press AND the additional 4-hole turret I purchased. Both 4-hole turrets have one noticeable hole threaded VISIBLY crooked!
I have not loaded the first round yet, but cannot imagine any precision coming from such sloppy machine work!
I don't really want to return everything but will probably try to get the turrets replaced..."

Lee Classic Turret is Great!,December 27, 2009
By NCMountainfrom Asheville, NC
"What can one say. Lee is a quality built piece of equipment. The carbide dies are wonderful to work with and the sturdiness of this press is second to none. I love the ability to auto index or do it manually. I find I use both equally and this package with all the extras is more than enough to get anyone started in reloading. My only complaint is when one auto indexes and cycles the handle fully down the turret plate goes just past lining up and I have to use my free hand to turn it ever so slightly back. I don't know if anyone else experiences this or maybe it is just me. It is no real issue and if you don't cycle the handle all the way and just until you feel the next index station lock in your fine. The three hole mounting is great for those like me that hard mount the press. One would assume all people do but I have heard some use c-clamps to attach to a bench. I went to my local ACE Hardware to get the bolts and washers as well as wing nuts to mount to my bench. It easily and quickly detaches as well. The auto powder charger works great too. It throws just a few tenth grains more than what it should but I weigh every 5th round charge to make sure it is within load limits. All in all this press is the best in my opinion for a beginner or seasoned reloader. As always read the load manual carefully and take precautions like weighing every 5th or so load to make sure if you do use the auto powder charger it is within acceptable grains. This is a fairly precise hobby and an overload could prove costly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to reload. Would have given it a 4.75 rating for the overshoot of the index and the powder charge overage I mentioned but these are all things reloaders are accustom to. Anyway............if your in the market go buy one and enjoy the hobby."

Solid Press and Kit,December 25, 2009
By Jaseballfrom NC
"This kit is a very good value. After lots of research I made this purchase and I'm very happy. If your on the fence about buying this press, let me assure you that it is a good product. The scale that is in the kit is accurate but can be difficult to read and takes a little more time than alot of people probably would like to spend measuring. If your going to reload rifle, go ahead and purchase the Double Disk kit as well. This will enable you to create a greater charge as the kit only allows up to a certain point. It will also help fine tune your powder measure. Once you receive your press, setup is better if you follow the information ONLINE at Lee's website. Dig around there tons of info but spread out a bit. The only other thing that I could add is if your Left Handed, you can use this press but its really designed for right handed individuals in my opinion. The handle can be switched over to the left or right side but its overall a right handed design. Great product should last me a very very long time."

"I bought this kit to reload pistol ammo, and it works very well. Do yourself a favor and watch the short videos on the Lee web site before you set it up.Don't move or replace the turret unless the ram is up or you could mess up the plastic gear. If your having trouble with the auto prime, it probably just dirty. Keep it clean and lubed and it will crank out thousands of trouble free rounds."

Perfect unit for beginners or experienced reloader,November 3, 2009
By JimBeam45from Spokane, WA
"I purchased the Lee Classic Turret Press about a month ago, and have already loaded over a thousand rounds in seven different calibers without a single hickup. I can easily load 200 rounds per hour for handgun cartridges. Rifle takes a little more time and attention to detail however. The powder measure that comes with this kit will not handle the volume of powder that a rifle round requires, but it is so consistent that I have been able to make consistent loads by double-pumping the handle for each round. Of course I measure each load for the rifle calibers, but it has worked perfectly so far. To save time, I upgraded to a digital scale. I am considering purchasing the double-disk upgrade for the powder measure to make life easier when loading rifle calibers.
I did a lot of research before deciding on this Lee press. In the end, I couldn't be any happier with my decision. The quick change turrets make switching to a different caliber a breeze. I would strongly recommend this press and in particular, this entire kit to a friend. It's a great value!"

Loaded my first 20 rounds ever!,October 25, 2009
By madmanwatersfrom Alaska
"Cons: The instructions read and look like they were written in 1944 by a crochety old guy with more imortant things to do. Watching every video on the LEE website is a must to learn how to set this press up.
Pros: Everything else. I love this kit. I had never reloaded before, and this kit got me going.
Good quality at a reasonable price, just as it should be."

Lee Classic Turret Press Kit,October 13, 2009
By orion25from AL
"Works good for my purposes. I reload .223 on it right now and will be reloading .45 ACP soon. The press is awesome, I use it as a single stage most of the time but like the fact that all I have to do is turn the turret to change dies instead of removing and replacing them like on a real single stage. My only kit complaints are that the included priming system is a pain to use. I went with a hand held lee priming system because it is easier to use and I can prime cases on the sofa. Also, the beam scale was way too tedious to use. I got a lyman digital scale to speed things up. The included powder measure kit (auto disk) will not work out of the box with .223. I picked up the Lee Perfect Powder Measure for $25 or so and it works great with ball powders.
All in all, I would have bought the press and got the powder measure, scale and priming system seperately if I had it to do over again. But as I said, the press is great and the Auto Disk will work with the .45 ACP dies I will be getting soon........."

Great purchase,September 13, 2009
By LeeFan
"I bought the Classic press and have been very happpy with it. The Lee press is easy to set up, easy to use, and I have set mine up to change calibers in just seconds.
The long lever arm makes easy work of reloading larger calibers or rifle rounds.
I have now loaded over 750 rounds with mine and would recommend this press to anyone.
There are faster presses on the market, but none for this price."

LEE Classic Turret Press Kit,September 12, 2009
By JR427from Western PA
"Excellant Package for new and just starting out. In fact, I like this package better than some of the Kits Lee already offers, but everyone has different needs. For me, I wanted something to reload 9mm that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. The Classic Press turns out high quality ,accurate, ammo. I can turn out 100-200 an hr. and the price is right. Cabela's, pat yourself on the back for this package. It's the one Lee probably should have put together. JR427"

"Hello, I am a first time reloader. I have always wanted to try my hand at reloading. Starting out I have looked at a lot of presses online. I came across Cabela's web page, and found the reloading section. Then I reseached the Lee Classic Turret Press, and done so by talking with others who also reload. I am very pleased with my purchess, money and product wise. Also thank you Cabela's for your speedy delivery. Thank you very much, First time reloader"

Very good press,July 14, 2009
By noelf2from VA
"This is a very good press. Very well build. Worked right out of the box. Added my dies and started cranking out rounds. You won't believe the quality you are getting for the cost of this press. I recommend you get some extra replacement turrets so you can leave the dies in them. Makes it easier to switch to reloading other calibers as your die adjustments will remain constant that way."

excellent for the price,June 29, 2009
By mastertechfrom chas, sc
"this kit is the first press i've had, but its great and i can't honestly say i think i'll need another. first, the turret idea is great. some people have said that there is too much play between the turret and the head, but as long as you make sure to press the handle firmly down, it always tilts the exact same (maybe 1/32" on mine). all the bullets come out the same length and it causes no issues. the press is solid and you really can change calibers in just a few seconds. i love it. second, the lee powder scale. kind of in the middle of the road on this scale, this is why i rated it 4 stars. it works in the fact that it weighs the powder, but its difficult to read very accurately (maybe accurate to .2 or .3 grains). it works ok for a very low budget starter scale, but i will upgrade soon. third, the powder measure, very very handy for loading pistol rounds. acuurate enough for when all i need is function. using this powder measure is very quick, i can probably load 150 to 200 rounds an hourusing it. if i were not loading for match grade accuracy, just hunting rounds, this would be fine for rifle loads. its not accurate or precise enough for match accuracy, because the powder measure is volume based, and the powder density neccessarily has some fluctuation to it, your loads may come out .2 to .3 grains different over the course of a batch. not horrible, but by no means "perfect" the other issue i take with the perfect powder measure is the size of the adjustments from one cavity to the next. you are stuck in what that cc change is, which could be .1 grain, or could be .7 grain, depending on what you are adjusting to and from. finally, the safety prime. what an ingenious little system. i love this, very simple, easy to use, and handy. it takes just a bit of getting used to how to use it, but once you get it figured out you can really fly. i love it. i will say though, the last 2 or 3 primers are tricky to get out. its only because there isn't enough weight pushing the last primers down into the dispenser mechanism, and simply solved by just tapping on the feed tube. Overall, i will defintely continue using this kit, and i will recomend this to others. good starter kit"

"I have been reloading for nearly fifty years now and I can honestly say that overall, this is the best darn press I have ever used! I have all the "other brands" that cost more than the Lee three times over and can't even BEGIN to compare to it! Please believe me when I say that it is in a class all by itself, nothing else at ANY price even comes close; the BEST!"
