"I only gave the training collar 3 stars because I had to send the 1st one back, I could not get it to work. The replacement is working well and my dog is learning that she can no longer have a mind of her own when she is loose. After getting shocked a couple of times she has learned that even when she is running loose, I still have control."

Had to send the product back,March 3, 2009

"This review is not totally complete, had to send the product back because the tone did not work on it. Couldn't tell if the remote was on or not. Charged the batteries, recharged the batteries, reread the instructions, my husband reread the instructions. The remote trainer did not seem to be operating properly according to the instructions.
I did make a phone call to discuss the issue and was told to send the product back to Cabela's. I really would like a Cabela's Gun Dog GS-2000 Trainer Collar that works, I have a problem dog I took pity on because his owners were sending him to the pound. He needs some discipline and motivation concerning some of his behaviors. So hopefully, the collar I sent back to Cabelas will be exchanged for a remote trainer that works. Feel free to send another review when I actually get a trainer that works.
Otherwise, I will ask for a refund on the product and purchase one from a different company that is similar in features."
