Steiner's latest Predator, the new Predator Pro model, features Steiner's exclusive Color Adjusted
Transmission (CAT) lens coating that enhances brown and red colors against foliated backgrounds,
making game subjects "pop" from green foliated backgrounds. Includes an eyepiece rain guard and regular
neck strap. Waterproof to 15 ft. The Sports Auto-Focus allows hunters to scan an entire landscape
without having to readjust focus. It also can be faster in locating a game animal. Rubber armoring also has
been re-engineered so it emits almost no noise during handling. The softer, quieter rubber is also more
tactile in wet weather, and the forest green color blends with most camo patterns. With 18.5mm eye relief
and soft, fold-down eyecups, eyeglass wearers will have no difficulty whether they choose to wear their
glasses or not.
The 8x22 and 10x26 Predator Pro binoculars are great for difficult, big-game hunting and rugged
outdoor use. The compact ultralightweight binoculars have strong aluminum housings with a specially
designed, rugged armor covering that ensures a firm grip, and large center focus knob for operation even
in cold, wet weather. These light-weight binoculars incorporate Steiner PC-5 coatings on every lens
surface throughout the system. This delivers higher contrast and greater light transmission than older
models, and the binoculars are available at a very affordable price for this high quality.
Comfort and convenience are critical when traversing rugged terrain, and these Predator Pockets are
designed with this in mind. They weigh less than 10 oz., making them small enough to tuck away in a
coat pocket for an afternoon or full week on the trail. The smooth and accurate center-focus knob can be
manipulated efficiently even with gloves. The snug, wrap-around eyecups eliminate distracting sidelight
while providing a comfortable buffer between the binoculars and their user. The
8x22 and 10x26 models have a neck strap and carrying case for easy travel. The 10x40 model includes a bino body
harness system. Now available in a 12x40 model. 10x40 model includes attached objective lens cap. All Predator
models come with a Limited 10-Year Warranty.

Excellant Product,September 29, 2009
By TrophyChasersfrom California, Out of State Trophy Hunter Group
"Our group exclusively has used these bino's for the last ten years for rifle and archery hunting. They are light, durable and have excellant clear optics. This product in 10X26 truly allows you to peer deep into dense brush and undergrowth to study every inch of the area. Just like a Predator ...$$$$ in spotting game.
We have used these bino's in every weather condition, from rain, snow, 100+F to -04 deg. F. They do not fog and work perfect everytime.
We oack deep into the backcountry where every once of wieght means something. These bino's are perfect as they give us clear images, durability, small size etc. They are perfect in archery hunting as we can draw our bows while wearing them around our necks without any restrictions."

Great value,September 10, 2009

"small, lightweight and great quality for the low price! Used them the first 2 Saturday's of Colorado archery season. Larger, more expensive bino's work better, but not if you leave them back in the truck!"

Amazing Binoculars,August 5, 2009
By NymphfisherTNfrom Tennessee
"Never written a review before, but I felt compelled. I'm cheap and picky and usually suffer from buyer's remorse almost immediately after any purchase of gear. After much shopping and debating, I pulled the trigger and purchased the Steiner 8x30 Predator Pros. These things are perfect and worth the investment. The first day I used them, I giggled like a little kid. The clarity is amazing, from 30 yards to infinity. They perform great in low light, and you can see into the shadows of overhanging brush and trees. Took them on a flyfishing trip to Wyoming. One evening I was scoping out rising fish from the car. I was watching fish rise in a pool at about 100 yards and realized that I could see bugs coming off the water at that distance. I could even make out what kind of bugs they were. Pretty awesome.
The 8x30's give plenty of magnification for almost any use, but the size and weight are still tolerable for lugging around in a pack or coat pocket. The auto focus blows my mind. I'm not smart enough to understand how it is possible. It might be magic. Adjusted them once per the directions and then could pan and scan all over the mountains as fast as my own eyes could focus on the change in distances. The attached lens caps are easy to pop on and off, and they stay stuck tight on the lenses while in your pack. I wear glasses, and with the lens cups folded down, I have full range of view. Went from a warm car to a cold rain and back to the car again and had no issues with fogging. Don't know where the negative reviews are coming from on that issue. Quit looking and get these binos. I'm sure there's something out there of superior quality, but not at this price. P.S. I don't work for Cabela's or Steiner. These are just really good binos. Hope this helps."

Steiner Predator Pro 8x22 Binoculars,February 7, 2009
By CarpingPhilfrom United Kingdom
"Really looked forward to owning these bino's but when i eventually received them they just didn't match up to what i expected for a top end well known product. My original bino's were better. Not bad but certainly not as good as expected."

steiner predator pro binoculars,January 25, 2009
By stumpstumblerfrom rural mass.
"These binos work well for deer hunting on the ground for me. I hunt heavy cover mostly and the Steiners, once focused, work well on different distances without refocusing. They also gather enough light for my purposes. The one thing I would like to see improved is to make the width adjustment stiffer so they won't flatten under my coat. Over-all the best I've used so far for my bow hunting."

Let's go Huntin'!,January 20, 2009
By WomanintheWoodsfrom Thumb of Michigan
"I really like these binoculars. They are very clear and easy to use. I like the lens caps. When a deer comes in, I can put them down and the covers will close up and protect my lenses. When I scan the woods, I like to rotate around along the entire face of both south and west facing wood lots, and the picture is clear and clean all the way around, from 300 yards to 90 yards away. My previous set were a set of Bushnell, which I liked, but had to keep focusing. These focus free are wonderful. I don't know how I survived for years without the focus free technology. Love the product. Every woman hunter, wildlife enthusiast, & bird watcher should have a pair of these. And I guess the men would love them too. Great overall product. Can't say enough good things about these Binoculars!"

GREAT BINO's,December 29, 2008
By Cannononefrom Houston, Texas
"I bought these when my leopold broke and I am really impressed. They are light weight and rubber coated which is great when you have them aroud your neck all day, and with the addition of the bino harness they are truly a pleasure to use. Once you focus them in you never have to readjust anything. From 25 yards to infinity they are very clear and probably the best bino's for your money. You will not be disappointed."

Awesome!,November 4, 2008
By Thrash009from Tennessee
"This is the second set of steiner binoculars I have had a chance to own. I purchased my first (Big Horn 9x40) in 1994 and have used them Hunting in Wyoming as well as Tennessee. They NEVER let me down but I was forced to have to purchase a new pair as I lost mine after 15years (dont put them on the bed of your truck when you come out after dark from hunting and then drive off). My new pair is just as GREAT as the old ones!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!"

glare,October 6, 2008
By Albiefrom Uxbridge,Ma.
"The binos.I received, had a distinct glare in the bottom half of the veiwing area, almost as if they were fogged, which they were not.I compared them to my pair of Bruntons which are crytal clear, and cost about half what the Steiners do,and there was no comparison. For what the Steiners cost, they should be far better then they actually were.I sent them back, and I'm looking into others,or maybe,I'll just keep using my heavy Bruntons........"

'Steiner Predator,August 18, 2008
By Valdez1from Valdez, Alaska
"Pros: Outstanding clarity! Excellent weight for long hunts, this was one of my defining carracteristics for purchasing the Predator, due to ease of carring in the field...small, light, easily carried around neck for days... Con: My only (small) challenge was when breathing hard and quickly trying to get on target the 10X created some slight challenges that perhaps a 8X would have made stabilization quick."

Good binoculars BUT...,January 7, 2008
By mlwaggyfrom Buckhannon, WV
"I gave these a shot because of the Steiner name and the familiar style (plus the free sholder harness). Out of the box I was not happy with the appearance of the rubber coating. I liked them in the field well enough though I think the shoulder harness is a must for hunting.
The Predator lens coating is virtually useless in the autumn woods where everything is brown. I did not use these in the spring or summer so I can't testify to more green seasons.
In my opinion, for the money, get yourself a pair of Nikon Monarchs - in nearly every way they are far superior to these Steiners."
