By Bowwavefrom Chesapeake Bay area MD
"The Eagle FishElite® 642 c Sonar/GPS was easy to set up and is easy to use. The menus are straight foward. The resolution is top level and the unit is completly viewable in full direct sun. This is my second eagle product and the quality and the price have notlet me down."

Service is the issue,December 23, 2008
By Frogman27from Daytona Beach, Florida
"I have to echo the review that service at Eagle is not what it should be. I contacted them trying to get a repair on one of these units. They took SEVERAL MONTHS to respond to me through email only to let me know I could buy a new unit for a few dollars more than the repair would cost. The repair cost is suprising, but the lack of responsiveness from the company, and the annoyance of dealing with them is far more suprising. I'd always had good feelings about their products before that. Now I'm looking at Garmin and Humminbird for the replacement. The product is OK, but the company fails on all counts."

Technical Problems!,October 8, 2007
By ArkLaTexManfrom Texarkana, AR
"Eagle Electronics was unable to resolve problems associated with this unit and REFUNDED my original purchase price. The 642 igps unit problems included deleted waypoints, power supply failures and "magenta" screen problems. This was a very frustrating problem because I have owned Eagle units for many years and found them to be reliable and a good value. I even purchased another Eagle 642 igps unit from Cabelas to use while the original unit was in for MULTIPLE repairs and this unit also developed the "magenta" screen problem within two months. THANKS to Cabelas for their 60 return policy on electronics! I was able to return the second Eagle 642 igps unit on day 59 without questions and I immediately purchased the Lowrance 522 igps unit. IF YOU HAVE THIS UNIT, BACKUP YOUR WAYPOINTS ELECTRONICALLY OR HARD COPY!"

Great sonar good gps maps,April 30, 2007
By waleyefishermanfrom Fallon Nevada
"Upgraded from an older fishfinder. Color sonar is super, no problem seeing in the sun. installation easy and produces great results. Lots of options with gps. so many options it takes awile to learn. Keep your owners book handy it will make the first couple of times using easier. Split screen sonar/gps is great for staying on the fish. You will love this unit"
