Not built to last,November 12, 2009
By Coldwinterhunterfrom Western New York
"I have four wildview game cameras total. two are 2.0s that are on their 3rd season, one is a 2.0 that is on its second season, and one is a 5.0 that is on its first season. The newer they are the worse they get. I have all hooked up to car batteries, so battery life is not an issue. I leave them out for six months per season without worring about batteries. The biggest problem with all four cameras is that they "freeze". I change memory cards every Sunday, and they are usually froze on monday's date. Then I have to unplug battery and reset time and date, this is annoying enough not to mention all the pictures I miss in the following five or six days. My other problem is with the two newer cameras not taking pictures with deer right in front of it. Deer tracks within ten feet of camera and no pics, even when camera is not "froze". On a good note the cameras do take nice pictures when they are working properly, and they are eazy to use. It is exciting to check the cards every week, but disapointing when there are few or even no pictures because camera froze. This is especially true when there is a new rub or scrape right in front of camera. I am now starting to change out cameras one at a time with a different camera that you can catch on sale for $79.99 and gets a 4 out of 5 star rating. Hope to have better luck with these."

Not too bad for the money...,November 8, 2009
By coolguy9112from Napoleon, OH
"I've been using this camera for about 2 years now. The pack came with 2 of them, so that was nice. Setting these cameras up are very easy. The picture quality isn't too bad, but could be better if it was a 4 megapixel camera. It does eat the batteries up fairly fast. Had to change them out about every three weeks. This year I decided to hook up an external battery to it, and its taken a lot better pictures. I've also used the same battery now for about 6 months and still don't need to charge it. The range is a little weak at night, but you really can't expect too much from that because a flash can only go so far. During the day, and even when the sun rises and falls, the pictures are great. For as cheap as these cameras are, they make a really nice hunting tool, especially if you are just starting to get into the game of tracking deer."

does what it should,November 8, 2009
By fjj3from New Orleans, Louisiana
"we used to mainly dog hunt on our lease till a few years ago. switching to just still hunting has been challenging. this is the first year i put a camera at my stand. i'd always use the old fashion method of scouting etc. the camera is in tight cover, maybe 10 yards wide with a 20yd depth to view. of course the pictures are not the best of quality, but i can see the points on the antlers on deer that are past the feeder (which is about 10yds away from the camera) it does what it's supposed to, just not superior quality. good enough for tight cover, i wouldnt use in a larger area though, ill be going with higher quality cameras for my other stands."

Great value,September 30, 2009
By JUTSfrom Melbourne, Australia
"I own quiet a few different brands of TC's and purchased these as cheap alternatives to use on public land where risk of loss i high. After reading a few reviews i was a little sceptical about the quality but i can now say they are a great little TC. They have endured MASSIVE rain falls and weather changes without a hiccup. Photo quality was also impressive for what you pay. I would recommend to a friend for sure and already added a few more to the wish list."

No Luck,September 16, 2009
By GeorgeofJunglefrom Wisconsin
"I'm disappointed with this camera. The night pictures are terrible. The range of the sensor appears greater than the range of the flash. I have had night pictures of deer 10' away and you can barely see if they are bucks. Deer must be about 3' away at night in order to get a clear picture. The resolution is not very good but I expected that. Like with other reviews, I can walk past the camera without triggering it. My old 35 mm game cameras were a better purchase and were more fun."

Devoted hunter ;),August 31, 2009
By Alex15from Ville Platte Louisiana
"This camera is all any hunter needs. Put it over your food plot or corn or w.e and it will catch anything that stops with not a bad quality picture day and night. Batteries arent bad either. Why go buy a 3-400 dollar camera when u can buy one 1/3 the price and still get almost same quality? Cant beat it for the price."

Good for the $$$,August 21, 2009
By PWebfrom Iowa
"I owe 3 of these cams. Have used them for 3 years will good results. I set them on Auto flash, 3 exposure, 1 min time delay and use rechargeable batteries to keep operation cost low. They have taken good pics for only 2 MP. The only problem, one camera has started taking pics with the flash regardless of setting."

save your money,August 4, 2009
By Klahre62from Halifax,PA amature bowhunter
"I bought 4 of these things because i wanted a buncha different locations and didnt have the money for anything better but that was a mistake. 3 of the 4 didnt work most of the time i got black pictures and i was putting batteries in every 2 weeks and the cameras weren't even taking pictures. i already have 2 of the moultrie 4.0's and the pictures make the wildview pictures look horriable. if your not going to put down some corn or rock salt dont expect these cameras to take good pictures. im returning all 4 of mine and am going to get something else. i gave this product 2 stars because you get what you pay for."

Simple to use, decent pics, eats batteries,July 15, 2009
By RH4455from St.Louis MO
"Simple to use and set up, decent pics for a low price unit, eats batteries like crazy, 10 days is the most I get out of a set of batteries. HATES COLD WEATHER. This unit DOES NOT WORK WHEN COLD, locks up below about 45 degrees. I have a Moultree 4.0 mp and the batteries lasted over 4 months and it works in 10 degree weather."

Worth far more,July 5, 2009
By southsoundjefffrom Western Washington State
"I purchased a pair of these when one of my Moultrie cameras was stolen by a dirt-bag. I got this model because it was cheap and simple (kinda like me). This camera takes VERY crisp and clear pictures without being blocky or blurry. The downside is that it doesn't have a laser aiming setting, and also it doesn't go very long between battery changes, due to only having 4xC cells. Still, I am impressed with the quality of the images, and that's why I bought the thing, right? I will probably purchase another pair next trip into the store."

Camera locks-up,June 25, 2009
By NoMoreWildviewsfrom Michigan
"I have returned 6 cameras to Wildview in a row under warranty because they randomly lock-up and won't do anything until you pull the batteries out. I have tried everything with no success. Save yourself the frustration and buy something that works reliably."

This product is no good.,May 14, 2009
By Deerslayer152from Columbia City, Indiana
"I bought one of these cameras last fall, and put it out right before deer season, and didn't get any pictures at all. Then when archery season came in I was sitting in my stand, and watched two does stop right in front of the camera, and it didn't even take a picture of them. But I left it out, and started to get a couple of pictures here and there and when it got really cold out the camera just completly stopped working. It just frooze. So i'm deffinetly going to buy a different brand. Very disapointed in this product and the companies customer service which offered me no help in trying to fix my problem."

Very disappointed.,April 30, 2009
By Jimbo3Dfrom Minnesota
"I have never posted a review on a product before but I felt this was needed. I am not happy with this product at all. Believe all the reviews you will read about it being unreliable and that it eats batteries. I drove 3 hours back and forth to my turkey hunting area prior to the season specifically to put up this camera a week before my hunt only to get there this weekend to find that it took no pictures at all (it "locked up"). No deer, no turkeys, nothing. It worked somewhat okay last fall for deer but it does not work well at all now. The pictures it did take came out okay but you'll only be disappointed when it malfunctions and you get none. The batteries die in a day or two, it won't turn on, it won't shut off. The only way to get it to work for a while is to take out the batteries and let it reset itself. Then you have to reset the date and time. Do your research and read reviews to find a camera other than this. It's inexpensive but still a waste of time and money."

Spotty Results at Best,March 19, 2009
By mnmn926from Southern Middle Tennessee
"I have this camera set up about 150 yards from my house. I have watched both deer and turkeys walk right in front of the camera, noted the time of day etc and checked....and nothing. Any quick movement by the game usually results in a blur. I have one photo I just downloaded where the doe looks like and anteater as she had moved her head downward to eat. Night shots are a joke 10 of 10 for me are black or a blurry white spot. I have had the same results on brand new "high dollar" batteries as well as 2 week old batteries. Out of about 90 shots I'd say 10 were keepable...the rest just blanks, blurs, or black shots. I will be upgrading to a Moultrie ASAP. I cannot recommend this camera for anything other than still photos."

Eats batteries,February 10, 2009
By fltengfrom Jacksonville Fl
"The cam does what it's suppose to for me. Lets me know when the game it at my feeders. This camera eats batteries. The have been lasting me about 5 days. If the batteries go dead you loose all your pictues. I have this cam on an active feeder and lost all my pics. I went and bought 12 volt external batteries use hook up to it. Better off paying a little more and getting a better cam."

By DaFryGuyfrom Kennesaw, GA
"These camers are great if you plan to set them up in the house, they take great pictures, but as soon as you move them outdoors they are terrible. I don't know if the flash overloads them but they seem to lock up as soon as the first flash pic is taken. Save your money."

Unexpected Quality,January 8, 2009
By BigHofffrom Maryland
"Got this camera for Christmas. Wanted to test it out before putting it up full-time this spring. Got over 300 pictures in 6 days using the 5 min. interval with 3 picture burst. Picture quality was good and they were all nighttime pictures. Would be 5 star but this camera eats batteries at the rate of 4 C cells per week. Going to get the 12V battery and adapter to compensate."

Does what I want,November 16, 2008
By Halfjawfrom Woodbridge, VA
"Like most folks, this was bought to upgrade from my 35mm film camera. It takes good pictures. Unfortunately the camera is a little slow and I get a lot of deer butt pictures. Best part is a I get a few of my club members looking like deer in the head light poses too. These would be best facing up or down a deer trail or even at a feeder or mineral lick. Anything that will hold the deer in place long enough for the camera to do its job.
I have 5 cameras 3 of which are wildviews. The other 2 work about the same as these so if you are looking for reasonably priced entry level digital cameras, I'd say these are a good start. They program easy enough and with practice and ingenuity, you can get these out in the field and working almost right out of the box.
I am using metal fence post to mount mine as they make them very mobile and I am slowly switching them over to external batteries with solar panels to extend their field time."
