"I shoot a Winchester Super X2 with a Kicks Gobblin Thunder Choke. This particular load performed very poorly at 40 yards. The most pellets I was able to place in the kill zone at this distance were 3. Even though the wads reached out over 30 yards, the total pattern was very wide. With my set up, I would recommend 2 3/4" Remington Nitro Magnum."

"These shotshells pattern as advertised. I patterned both 4's and 5's using 3" 12 gauge copper plated shot out of a Stoeger M2000. This shotgun uses the Cabela's Heavi-shot extra full turkey choke. On a full sized turkey target, the 4's registered 89 pellets and the 5's registered 94 pellets in the kill zone at 30yards. Most times the shot cup was found near the target. I took a long beard at 20 yards using the 4's and he never knew what hit him."

"Using a SBE, i patterned the 3" #5's with an extra full choke and a ported turkey choke at 25 yards. A decent amount of shots in the kill zone with the turkey choke, but unbelievable amount more with the extra full. Blistered the paper to shreds. Use a non-ported choke like federal recommends, you will be amazed. Used this combo to snag my first tom (10.5" beard) at 35-40 yards with just a little opening through brush. I will only use federal premium now."

"i have tried every shell out there spent hundreds of dollars on them and i still keep goin back to these federals in #6. Every tom me and my girlfriend have killed have been with these shells i killed both mine last spring at over 40 yards.The one she killed the wad was stuck to the beek of the bird it was about a thirty yard shot Thanks federal for making a load worth the punishment.i shoot a briely choke .665 from a mossberg 500 i get 122 #6' s in an 8 inch circle at fourty yards."

"I have used these rounds in my Winchester Super X2 with a Browning invector plus turkey tube for 4 seasons now. I use the 3 1/2 with #5's. I will probably NEVER switch from this shell. I have killed three Toms over 50 yards! I found one of them, had the flight control wad under his head! Sot one this past spring at 25 yards and he only flapped his wings once after he hit the ground. I used a box of the Federal high density loads. They worked great, but I believe that the less expensive lead hits just as hard."

"I have patterned over 5 of all the major turkey loads out there, including variety of Remington, Fiocchi, and Federals in different shot, shell, and distances. Remington comes in 2nd, Fiocchi 3rd, but by far Federals are superior. I shoot at an 8 inch black circle at 40 yards. To me that is the real kill zone. The Federal Shell in 3.5 inch #5 shot Hi Velocity thru a Truglo GobbleStopper choke left not even 1 inch between any hole in the 8 inch circle. That would probably amount to a 60 to 70 yard shot capability. Fall turkey season is on the way, I"m confident in my equipement."

"I sighted my pump 12 ga. in w/ these and consistently put 8-12 pellets (5-6 are needed for clean kill.) in a turkey target kill zone at 45 yds. before the season. I was using a ported turkey choke. The special wad was usually found right in front of my target at probably 40 yds. When the season opened I bagged a 23 lb, 11-in. beard, 1-in. spurs gobbler at 17 paces. The wad was just on the other side of my bird when I got to him. And the head was the only thing hit by the shot. I think I probably hit him in the head w/ that wad. Perfect ending to a great day... I would recommend these loads to anyone. But practice w/ them... that pattern is tight at close range."

"This past week i called a nice tom into 28 yards. My 870 was loaded with the 3" #5 shot loads, once i got the bird out of strut (which seemed like forever) i put the bead in the middle of his neck and let er rip, at the shot the bird slammed into the ground, floped two or three times and was dead. Upon impact the bird's wing broke from hitting the ground, now thats some power!!!"
