Dead turkeys!,

"I don't like to mess around. I own a Remington 870 3 1/2-inch mag 12-gauge, a Primos Jellyhead aftermarket choke, topped the gun with a Nikon 2x7 scope, and shoot Hevi-Shot. The clincher for Hevi-Shot was patterning at 50 yards. My gun averaged 10 killing shots (to the spine or head of a turkey target) with Hevi-Shot and 9 killing hits with Federal Flight Control, but what sold me was the box I stapled the target to MOVED when hit with Hevi-Shot, but not with the Federal offering, which indicates much better downrange energy. I'm normally a Federal guy, but I make an exception for turkey hunting.
Now, the farthest shot I've taken to kill a turkey with this setup was only 34 yards, but all four so far have hit the ground like a bag of wet sand. HOWEVER, a friend forgot his gun on a hunt and borrowed mine after I killed my bird, and he dropped a tom at 51 paces through the woods. I was doing the calling and paced the shot off myself. I couldn't believe it, but it was true."

"I tried several 3 1/2 #6 shot loads and Hevi-Shot takes the cake.
Some of the other loads out there put up a comperable pattern, but you walk away with your teeth loose in your head after a few rounds while patterning in.
Heavi-Shot was putting up consistent pie plates at 30 yards with a #6 Kicks brand choke.
Heavi-Shot rounds put up consistently good patterns and doesn't leave you with tears in your eyes."

Hevi 13 Turkey shells,

"These shells are great!!!! Shot my first turkey with them last season. He came to 35-40 yrds. and stuck his head up. He fell like a rock when the Hevi-shot hit him. Was using Hevi 13 3 inch #6s."

"this stuff works wonders. i walked off a shot at 64 yards on opening weekend this spring and counted 17 pellets in the head and neck. used an 870 supermag, xfull choke with 3.5 inch 5's. that one shot made me a believer"

"these shells have unbeliveble patterning but when it comes to killing tureys past 40 yards these shells just wont do it. i would recomend remington HD or winchester supreme elites or regular supreme turkey loads"

"2008 youth Pa season. My daughters tom at 30yds all pellets from waddles up. My sons tom at ranged 49yds body shot pellets went though wing bone into chest, though leg bone and out. And completely though neck bone. Dropped dead. Gun- 20ga. Rem. 870 with kicks 560. Consistently 20 plus in vitals on turkey target at 40yds with #6s. No recoil, great pattern, WIN, WIN."

"There was a gobbler that I just couldn't get to come in. Finally I decided to try to still hunt him. I got to within about 40-45 yds and couldn't get any closer. I set my beed on his head and fired, only to watch him run away. Like a fool I hadn't checked my pattern. I proceeded to test it on a tree only to find out it was a little high. What really surprised me though was the size of the pattern. At 30 yds it was only about 5" in diameter. That's tight! Next time I'll set the beed where his neck meets his chest and I'm confident that it will give him severe case of jelly head."

"I heard all the hipe about these turkey loads, so I had to try them. I compared these 3"#5's to my 3" #5 turkey rounds I already had. I fired them from my benelli 12ga.
As far as grouping, I had good patterns out to 35 yrds, after that they really dropped off in consistancy. I thought at 40 yrds my standard 3" rounds were just as good. The thing I really noticed was the recoil. It felt as though the recoil was about half of what my other ammo did. I found the recoil to be very nice. I think the price is just a little steep, but they are worth a try."

"If this product is used with a choke tube designes for use with Hevi-Shot you will see excellent results. Hevi-Shot is much harder than steel and you should be cautious when using in older shotgun barrels.
I was not able to get the world record of 42 pellets in a three inch circle but there were enough number six pellets in a six inch circle that it would be a killing shot."

"Fellas
I wanted to see what all the hype was about so I bought a box of these shells, and a new chole tube. I was told not to shoot the ultimag turkey choke with these shells. So I tested these shells against Win, Rem #6's and guys.......save your money. My test was at 40 yds. The best I could do with these shells was 17 in the kill. Rem consistantly out performed by putting 20+ pellets in the kill."

"Consistently puts more pellets in the kill zone than any other round I've ever tried. Fantastic out to sixty yards with my extra full choke tube. Even without the tube these loads are excelent out to forty yards. While it's always best to take the bird at thirty yards or less, that's not always possible and it's nice to know these loads will perform to the extreme if needed."

"I received a couple of boxes for Christmas last year. Thought I'd try them on early goose this year. Last week and this, they proved to knock 'em down! Shooting an old A390 with mod choke, these #4s dropped the Canadians easily. They did not wound like steel. Great Product."
