"I put it on before the first tournamant that my boat got to go to, It works nice, we had a cuda on the old boat not so good, Getting it mounted and wired in wasn't so bad either, Im not real good with all the buttons yet and using it for all that it can do but just to turn it on and use it it works good,"

"This is a good Fish/depth finder for the money. I've had no problems with it installing it was very easy. I'm impressed with how easy it is to use it took me about 5 minutes to go through all the menus and figure out how to get all the settings to my liking. I would recommend this to anyone who isn't looking to spend a lot of money!!"

A Little Complicated,August 13, 2007

"I purchased the Humminbird Matrix 12 Fishing System and installed it in my 18-foot Jetcraft, which I use for chasing salmon in the Pacific Ocean, and rainbow trout in the local reservoir. I'm 68 years old, so I had a difficult time understanding how to make the unit work right. The user's manual is hard to comprehend unless you're an 8 year-old kid who plays computer games. The unit did not work well for me at all, until after I called Humminbird Customer Service and was given an understanding of how the menu system works. For instance, I unknowingly fished salt water with the Water Type set to fresh. What a disappointment! The unit kept going nuts and giving me gibberish. And it never did find a salmon.....
After Customer Service solved my problems, the unit seems to work fine.
It turns out that the User's Manual caused most of my discomfort by being unconnected and in some cases, incomplete. If not for that, my review would have had a full five stars."

"After out last family camp out to the lake, my orginal depth finder came up missing. My boat had come with a Hummingbird Matrix 10 and I need something comparable and affordable. The family comes first you know! I had no problems at all interchanging the mounts and could also use the orginal tansducer that was mounted through my hull when I purchased my boat. The Matrix 12 is extremely user friendly and easy to operate. My 7 year old son even knows how to use it when we are fishing. The shallow alarm is used at all times especially when we ski with the kids. A great safety feature. It is GPS when I want to add this feature. The LCD screen is easy to ready and has a great display which makes it easy to read, even for my wife! The swivel mount is great for navigating or looking for fish. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and when it comes time to update I will purchase another Hummingbird Matrix with more features and again make my purchase from Cabela's my outdoor shopping store for everything I need. Thanks again for a great product and service."
