"When hunting geese in the early season where they are still feeding in green grass, I find the Avery KillerWeed excellent for camo on layout blinds. Sometimes, I add some grass from the field if the color isn't just right. Geese cannot see your blind!"

"I bought this layout blind because i thought it was the perfect combination of light weight low profile and comfort. I took it to Saskatchewan for aweek of early season field waterfowl huntingand found it's performance could not have it been better. The Power Hunter was so impressive that my outfitter went to town and ordered 12 units to have available for all his hunters."

KillerWeed Kayak Camouflage for Duck Hunting,

"I used 2 bags of KillerWeed to cover my kayak (dimensions: 28 inches x 13 feet 8 inches). I used 1 package of Golden Harvest and 1 package of All Terrain. I tied bundles of KillerWeed (dark colors below with light colors above) to a light-weight and strong synthetic leafy camo net that sits directly on top of the kayak – I really like the Golden Harvest color as the top layer. The net is cut to fit the shape of the kayak such that the leading edge of the net and bundled weed (all around) lies just above the surface of the water when you are in the kayak. This arrangement results in a floating mass of “vegetation” with a very low profile – a shallow muskrat nest! I tied the bundles of weed to the net with many dispersed thin but very tough strands of synthetic thread (golden in color but not shinny). To top it all off I disperse and tie a few dead cattails/rushes on top of the KillerWeed bundles for the final effect to match the local habitat – I carry a machete in the kayak. As the KillerWeed weathers it becomes much more effective as 3-D camouflage. It looks super and only gets better as the season progresses. The net allows me to roll up the KillerWeed bundles and put place then into a plastid bag for the trip home where I promptly dry the cover. Thus, the KillerWeed does not blow out on the highway and will last for several years even when it gets wet. Also, the bundles of Killerweed cushion any careless blows to the body of the kayak from the paddles – stealth is everything!"

IMPROPER COLORING,

"I BOUGHT SEVERAL PACKS OF THESE COLORS WITH TWO ADDITIONAL GREEN PACKS. THE BROWNS AND TAN WORKED OKAY FOR THE CUT CORN AND WHEAT FIELDS. I NEEDED THE WINTER GREEN FOR THE GREEN ONION, POTATO AND EVEN CARROT FIELDS THAT THE GEESE LOVE TO FEED IN. EVERYTHING THAT'S GREEN. UNFORTUNATELY THE GREEN WINTER WHEAT PACKS LOOKED LIKE THE GREEN HULA SKIRTS FROM HAWAII. THEY WERE NEON. THEY LOOKED GREAT IN THE GARAGE BUT NOT IN THE FIELDS. I COULD HAVE WORN THE UPLAND ORANGE AND GOTTEN THE SAME EFFECT, FLARING AT 200 YARDS OUT. I TRIED DYEING THEM AND LETTING THEM FADE TO NO AVAIL. DON'T BUY THE GREEN. YOU WON'T BE UNHAPPY"

"I purhased the all-terrain kit. The colors were great but it took 3 kits to cover my final approach laydown blind. The grass was a tangled mess. It took almost 6 hours to cover blind. The next time I will definately do something different."

"This product lives up to its name. It worked amazingly for me with the Mobile 1 Interceptor blind. I was surprised at how many more looks I got when I added it to my blind. The only drawback was the colors they had becasue they didn't match the picture I had seen of it."

Don't get it wet,

"I have been using the winter wheat killer weed for years now. I started using it on my caufin blinds. I covered 5 of them head to toe in it. When I put those cauffin blinds in a water way you could hardley see them. They also blend in very nicely with wheat and Barley fields.
I then decided to cover 3 pits with it. It looked awsome until I got 2 rain storms and the green color just washed away to its original tan color.
I never used my caufin blinds in heavy rain storms so I did not know about this "flaw"."

"Hello Fellow Hunters,
When I looked at this product, I was looking for something to finish my boat blind and make it blend into the background.
I was not disappointed when I received my two packs of Avery Killer Weed. I comes in several colors that are separated in the pack. I went ahead and put it on my boat blind using plastic wire ties and it blends in very good.
It has green, brown, and dead grass colors that can be added or removed as conditons change. I used the green colored grass more for early season. Later, I will save the green colored grass for next year and use the brown and dead grass colors for late fall and winter. It is very durable and will last for seasons as long as you cover your boat or store it out of the elements.
It is also great for using in a layout blind when field hunting for geese or ducks. It is a great product for waterfowl hunters.

Killer weed not so Killer!,

"Purchased the Killer Weed Kit for my Finisher blind. Was not really impressed with the grass at all. The different colors that were included I did not think was all that great. I usually use the natural grass, etc. that is around my blind set up but gets wet, messy, heavy, etc. Thought the Killer Weed would be better and the colors did not blend in and the one that did I did not have enough of. Blind stood out more that blended in, tried to pack it back in the bag and could not. Wound up throwing it all away when I got home. Will continue to use natural grass, etc. from now on."
