"I got my boots and can't really tell you how they work because the shoe laces are too short. I can barely tie a square knot at the top.
If I get the correct length laces, I'll wear the boot and provide a better review
MY husband has a pair of meindels and loves them. His came with 72 inch laces so he can tie a double bow and knot ."

Women's Teton Hiker II by Meindl,November 24, 2009
By way2gofrom CA
"It was suggested to order a half size smaller than normal. This is true. Very comfortable out of the box. My foot is narrow and this boot is pretty wide, but the heel is narrower and holds your foot securely. Also good for people with high arches. Have not gone on any mountain hikes yet, but have worn them all day from day one and no blisters or sore toes. If you have a narrow foot I suggest investing in some heavy socks. Also, I suggest you print out the foot sizing chart on the Cabela's web site. This helped get the right size the first time. Great boot."

Great boots!,November 18, 2009
By outdoorchicfrom gardenstate
"I have only had these boots for about a month now but I can tell they are going to last! I work outside and hike a lot. I've been known to wear out boots pretty quickly. I don't think that will be the case with these. They are comfortable right off the bat. I did have to get a smaller size than normal. I usually wear between a 9-9.5 and had to get an 8.5. Ruggedly made boots with a nice look. So far I am veryyy happy with these!"

"Read other reviews before buying and go along with them. Feel great right out of the box, they fit a half size smaller, and definitely stand up to tougher trails. I will really appreciate them this fall for hunting season!! Thanks!"

STURDY,September 29, 2008

"AS A BIOLOGIST, I SPEND MOST SPRING AND SUMMER MONTHS IN THE FIELD - HIKING THROUGH WATER, DIRT, AND ROCKS. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH FOUR PAIRS OF BOOTS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS, TO MY DISMAY. I'VE ONLY WORN THESE BOOTS A COUPLE OF TIMES. THEY ARE A RECENT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PURCHASE. I WILL CONFIRM THAT THEY ARE WATERPROOF, COMFORTABLE FROM DAY 1, AND WILL MOST LIKELY LAST MORE THAN ONE SEASON. THEY DO RUN A LITTLE LARGE. LACE ANKLE SECTION LOOSELY UNTIL BROKEN IN. LOVE THEM, AND WILL DEFINITELY BUY THEM FOR MY NEXT PAIR."

Dream boot,April 24, 2008

"I was a bit skeptic about the price and weight. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! These are the best boots I have ever worn. I didn't need to break them in at all. Working in the environmental field, I'm in boots all the time and I must say my feet are never sore at the end of the day with these boots. Rain or shine my feet stay dry. I am a Meindl fan! Mahalo nui loa!"

Great Pair of Hiking Boots,October 3, 2007
By Anonymousfrom Florida
"I received these in July as a birthday gift from my family to replace a pair of hiking boots that I had worn out. I took a trip to the Pacific Northwest this September with these shoes for their first true hike (Misery Ridge at Smith Rock State Park, OR) and they performed very well! I was actually very glad I had them, because my old shoes would not have made this hike! These had great traction on the steep, slippery, gravelly paths! These shoes didn't take long to break in, I believe I wore them only three full days in the time between July and September. I didn't get any blisters from them, even with the 4 hour hike around Smith Rock! Also, I have a very high arch, and these shoes were on my feet 90% of the time on this 10 day vacation, and my feet were not sore at all on the trip. Usually I have some pain in the arches of my feet after 2-3 days in hiking boots, so that was pretty impressive too! I will agree with other comments I saw online before I asked for these for my birthday, though. Go with the next smaller size. I usually am a solid 8 1/2 and I asked for an 8, and they fit fine even with hiking socks. All around a great pair of hiking boots!"
