Great boots!,November 18, 2009
By outdoorchicfrom gardenstate
"I have only had these boots for about a month now but I can tell they are going to last! I work outside and hike a lot. I've been known to wear out boots pretty quickly. I don't think that will be the case with these. They are comfortable right off the bat. I did have to get a smaller size than normal. I usually wear between a 9-9.5 and had to get an 8.5. Ruggedly made boots with a nice look. So far I am veryyy happy with these!"

"Read other reviews before buying and go along with them. Feel great right out of the box, they fit a half size smaller, and definitely stand up to tougher trails. I will really appreciate them this fall for hunting season!! Thanks!"

STURDY,September 29, 2008

"AS A BIOLOGIST, I SPEND MOST SPRING AND SUMMER MONTHS IN THE FIELD - HIKING THROUGH WATER, DIRT, AND ROCKS. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH FOUR PAIRS OF BOOTS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS, TO MY DISMAY. I'VE ONLY WORN THESE BOOTS A COUPLE OF TIMES. THEY ARE A RECENT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PURCHASE. I WILL CONFIRM THAT THEY ARE WATERPROOF, COMFORTABLE FROM DAY 1, AND WILL MOST LIKELY LAST MORE THAN ONE SEASON. THEY DO RUN A LITTLE LARGE. LACE ANKLE SECTION LOOSELY UNTIL BROKEN IN. LOVE THEM, AND WILL DEFINITELY BUY THEM FOR MY NEXT PAIR."

Dream boot,April 24, 2008

"I was a bit skeptic about the price and weight. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! These are the best boots I have ever worn. I didn't need to break them in at all. Working in the environmental field, I'm in boots all the time and I must say my feet are never sore at the end of the day with these boots. Rain or shine my feet stay dry. I am a Meindl fan! Mahalo nui loa!"

Great Pair of Hiking Boots,October 3, 2007
By Anonymousfrom Florida
"I received these in July as a birthday gift from my family to replace a pair of hiking boots that I had worn out. I took a trip to the Pacific Northwest this September with these shoes for their first true hike (Misery Ridge at Smith Rock State Park, OR) and they performed very well! I was actually very glad I had them, because my old shoes would not have made this hike! These had great traction on the steep, slippery, gravelly paths! These shoes didn't take long to break in, I believe I wore them only three full days in the time between July and September. I didn't get any blisters from them, even with the 4 hour hike around Smith Rock! Also, I have a very high arch, and these shoes were on my feet 90% of the time on this 10 day vacation, and my feet were not sore at all on the trip. Usually I have some pain in the arches of my feet after 2-3 days in hiking boots, so that was pretty impressive too! I will agree with other comments I saw online before I asked for these for my birthday, though. Go with the next smaller size. I usually am a solid 8 1/2 and I asked for an 8, and they fit fine even with hiking socks. All around a great pair of hiking boots!"
