"I bought these boots because I needed sturdy hiking boots. Because they are German-made, I thought they would be of excellent quality. The problem that I had with the boots is that the sole/last on which the boot is made is not parallel to the floor. When I put the boots on, I felt as if I had on high heeled shoes because my heels were a lot higher than the rest of my foot. I wanted a boot whose sole/last was parallel to the ground."

A little too much boot for me,September 25, 2008

"The entire boot is very stiff and inflexible, including the ankle portion - the top of which was putting pressure against the backs of my calves with each step. I don't hunt in extreme terrain so I really wanted something with a little give for greater comfort. The fit in the foot area was excellent. The boots seemed very well made and very durable. Laces need to be a little longer though. Would probably be a good boot for hunting in rocky, mountainous terrain, they just weren't what I needed."

"I live in a warmer climate than most so I opted for the 200 gram Thinsulate feature of this boot. To my surprise I got a ton more features with this boot. After wearing them in 18 to 85 degree weather I have found that my feet stay comfortable in these boots with wool socks. The narrow heel really makes a difference in the fit of the boot. The tread is amazing when climbing steep hill sides or climbing a ladder to my stand. The insole is amazing and I use boot dryers which dry the insoles and inner lining great.
If there is one thing I could change about this product it would be that the laces were longer so I could get a little more tying room when stuffing my pant bottoms in the top of my boots. Also, the bright blue tag on the boot tongue needs to be covered when I use them during turkey season so I used a permanent marker to blot it out and amazingly the tag now looks like a camo clad tag... its kind of neat!!
Awesome product... I will buy another pair when my current ones need replacing."

"My fiancee purchased the boots without running it past me first. I am glad he did. This was the first time my feet stayed warm during our deer hunting season. We hunted the lowland wheat first and then went up to 5,000 feet later on in the morning. The snow was flying and about eight inches deep. The wind was cold and normally my feet freeze. My feet stayed perfect all day. I was skeptical when crossing a stream in the morning, but even though I had to walk through the water, my feet stayed perfectly warm and dry. Awesome boots."

"The tread one the boots that I puchased is diffenent in your catalog then the ones I ordered online. It is the same order number but I ordered them on line instead of out of the catalog. The biggest reason I ordered those boots was because of the tread they had ( Pictured in your master catalog ) the tread I recieved is different. I thought the this may need to be brought to your attention..... Overall the boot size runs a half size large when I was wearing them in the feild. thought you may want to know that as well. As far as the performance and weight the boot is nice but is a little big. I still would have wanted the other tread due to the terraine that is around were I live. Mostly rock...I do alot of hunting and outdoor activities were a good tread is required."

"Last year I was using typical light weight, upland style boots that simply did not provide the lateral and foot support that was required for the rough terrain and side hills, and came home with bruised and blackened toes and blisters. I was referred to the Meindl boot by a friend, and have tried this pair and the other boot offered for women by Meindl through Cabelas. I used these boots extensively during a 7 day hunt in the coulees and crop fields of the westerm prairies after breaking them in for 3 weeks at home. Of the two pair the Ibex was the most comfortable. I never blistered or had problems with ankles, toes or the bottoms of my feet. We put on anywhere from 5 to 10 miles a day of rough walking, so the boots had a chance to prove if they would work for me! I would have liked to see a cork footbed, however, as offered in the mens style, since the general impression of men who have worn boots with and without the cork footbed feel it gives them a more comfortable, custom fit."

"My husband was tired of hearing me complain about my feet when we were out hunting but there are not many womens hunting boots available. We decided to try the Meindl boots because we felt Cabelas promoted good quality products. I was skeptical but I love these boots. I have not had a bad foot day (no more blisters) in them even though I can't say the same about my hunting. And they are easy on and off. No more trying to kick boots off. I have recommended them to others. I hope they listened."
