"The life of these isn't what one needs in the field.Great because of the power in this little lamp but LED's are the only way to go in the badlands."

I have it and have never used it,February 21, 2008
By Staxeonfrom Buffalo, NY
"I carry my Surefire E2E in a holster on my ankle daily, so it literally endures every step I take. Prior to the Surefire I was carrying a mini-mag (the 2AA variety) and got used to the fact that having a replacement bulb was a necessity. Since the Surefire was going into the same situations I bought this replacement lamp out of habit.
I have yet to need it. My original lamp is still running. But I know its not an LED and won't last forever, so its good to know I have the 2nd one on standby."

Great light when it is working,September 26, 2007
By Anonymousfrom Adirondacks and Vermont
"Have used my E2D regularily in the wood for over a year, and I'm out there a lot. Easy to carry and has a great beam when working. I'm disappointed that the bulbs burn out and batteries go dead with no apparent warning. Risky for a guy my age (75 yrs) to be using I guess, but I like it. I will be carrying a cheap back-up for safety sake."
