"I was skeptical at first but I decided to give it a shot. This unit is very cool, simple to install, and in many ways it's even easier than using the foot pedal. My initail reasoning on purchasing the copilot was for less "things" laying on the boat floor which this unit accomplishes nicely. Now I'm hooked on the rod mount (included) for the remote. It makes it simple to make movements while casting and I think it's easier to actually steer with the remote than it is with the foot pedal. Since mine is installed on a Pontoon boat, it gives me the freedom to move about the boat and still maintain control. The other nice feature is that you can use the remote along with the wired foot pedal if you so desire. Also worth noting is there are slight audible "beeps" indicating when the prop is on/off etc. these beeps are customizable as well with 3 differenct modes to choose from. Last but certainly not least the remote floats. If you're on the fence about buying this I think you'll find it useful as well as being cool so go for it. Now if I can just break the habit of reaching my foot for the pedal I'll be ok."

"Having seen this motor on other boats out fishing in the wind,, ,,,, me struggling with my outboard to keep a straight line, and the other fishermen getting pulled into the wind by their Minn Kota's,, I finally coughed up the bucks and bought one. I was advised by several people including one owner of a Marine store to get the 40 pound. Instead I went with the 55 and was glad that I did. The first time out, I had 3 people in my 15ft smokercraft Lodge series, and the wind came up and I was glad that I had the extra power to use when I needed it. I went for the co-pilot and never did use the foot pedal. It was so easy to steer the boat from the control that I wore on my wrist,, that I had to laught at myself for not buying this motor 3 years ago."

"This product makes running my trolling motor a snap. I wear the remote on my wrist next to my watch. I don't have to worry about losing my balance on a rolling deck while working the standard foot control and it's more responsive than the foot controls. Using the remote I can adjust the trolling motor from any position on my boat. I troll and drift live bait for walleyes and the copilot makes it easy to change direction and start/stop the trolling motor when fighting a fish. The only consideration is that the remote must not be obstructed from the CoPilot controls, similar to a TV remote and the sensor on the TV set. I would highly recomend this product. It is definitely worth the cost."
