"Went to CO Flat top Wilderness Area.Left PA for 2 weeks of riding and scouting. I have a browning stainless stalker with the boss system. Also a set of harris bi-pods. It's a little tight getting the rifle in, but it comes out pretty easily. provides alot of protection. 2 thumbs up"

Scabbard?,October 25, 2008
By wyomuleriderfrom Wyoming
"This is a high quality rifle case, but it isn't very well suited for a scabbard. It's too large--you could put a ma-deuce in it. It's like riding around with a tree trunk under your leg. Also, this review page is a pain in the tail."

Outfitters Supply TrailMaax Rifle Scabbard,September 8, 2008
By RobFromAlbertafrom Hinton
"Well built, durable exterior nylon that withstands abuse, plenty of padding for my French Walnut AA grade stocked rifle. Will fit any 26" magnum barrelled rifle with ease. Straps are heavy duty and long enough for attaching to both a quad rack or a saddle."

IAMarv,May 3, 2008
By IAMarvfrom Des Moines, IA
"A quality case. The case material is a semi-hard material, meaning it is rigid enough to stand up on its own and is resistant to punctures. This is not a typical soft sided case. Interior is a slick cloth/vinyl like material, it is not soft like a typical soft sided case, but does offer good protection. This product can be used with or without a pack animal."

"This scabbard is larger than I was expecting and swallows my 30-30 with scope. It is however very well made and protects the gun on my tractor with no worries what so ever..."

Solid Rifle Protection,January 7, 2008
By xmanf14
"Recently I purchased a Henry Big Boy (44 mag) rifle. I was surprised at the high quality of workmanship and finish that the rifle embodied. Consequently, I needed a sturdy holster or scabbard to protect the finish of the rifle. The TrailMax fill the bill. It is well padded, has pockets on the outside of the scabbard for storage, and is large enough to fully enclose the rifle. The opening of the scabbard not only has a zipper to fully enclose the rifle, but once zipped, it folds over and secures using a adjustable strap, fully covering the rifle from the elements. Furthermore, disengaging the clasp and unzipping the scabbard takes only a few seconds, allowing the rifle to be drawn immediately, whether mounted on a horse or ATV saddle, and has the straps for mounting on your favorite mount, whether animal or machine. I am very satisfied with the protection this scabbard provides for my rifle and I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants to protect their long gun out in the wild."

Quality Scabbard for elk hunters,November 28, 2006
By COLORADOBOUNDfrom Crossville,TN
"I recently purchased the outfitters scabbard for my boyfriend to take elk hunting in Colorado. He is not gentle in any way. He stayed there for 16 days through a snow storm. Used the scabbard everyday on his horse, and even had it when he killed an elk. The scabbard came back without a scratch. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I cant say that anything else came back in such great shape. Thanks, Tiffany in TN (this is actually a true story and the exact product I bought). If you would like to see a picture of this scabbard after 16 days, or a boyfriend who has not had a bath, just let me know:)"

co.elk hunt-pack trip,November 28, 2006
By jageefrom ga.
"The rifle scabbard did it's job to perfection, when you consider the incidents that it went through on my elk hunt pack trip.My buddy and rented four horses from a well not outfitter to use on our hunt.Renting horses for a hunt is that yoy ask for a good horse and you take what they give you.Overall they were good horses except for a couple of incdents in which the rifle scabbard did it job.Going in to camp no problem, coming out a different story. While stopping to water the horses my horse got spooked by one of the panners or something that caused rodeo unloading me and my pride, but the rifle scabbard held the 300 Tikka in tact even though the aspen tree tried to knock the scabbard and rifle from my horse. That situtation was calmed down, whits and tack was gathered up to continue. Only to experience another rodeo not far from the trail head. Some one had left their panners along side of the trail, spooking the horses for another try to remove the rifle scabbard and me with a dead tree just off the trail this time. This time I and the rifle scabbard stayed in tack,I in the saddle and the rifle in the scabbard, other than a lot CO. mud I well pleased with the scabbard."

Great Product,November 22, 2006
By MichiganRichfrom Midland, MI
"Purchased this for a trip to Idaho this fall. Was doing a 10 day drop camp in some of the most rugged country the west has to offer. One of my main reasons for buying this item was due to my rifle. It has a large 50mm objective lens and tall finger adjustable turrents. The scabbards that most outfitters use are great for lever actions, or guns without large scopes. They are usually just heavy leather without any additional protection. This scabbard not only provided the secure room I needed to protect my rifle but also became a favorite of the outfitter! It is now my go to rifle case. My usual hardcase hasn't been used since!"

worth the money,November 21, 2006
By Bigstatefrom San Antonio, tx
"For 20 years I have been elk hunting in Colorado. We take our own horses and pack in about four miles. We have always carried our guns on our shoulder when riding the horses, because we never felt confident enough in the quality of scabbords we have come across. This year I decided to give the Trailmax a try and I am extremely happy about my decision. This product performed above expectations in durabilty and simplicty. It can be adjusted to fit any saddle quickly. When riding you won't even realize the scabbord is there, however the gun can be removed in a matter of seconds."
