Great gun that doesn't work!,July 28, 2009

"We got this gun for my daughter to compete with based on the recommendation of a shooting coach. She loved how it handled, and her scores got much better. However after only two weeks it began to fire some dud shots, some of which never left the barrel. This was very frustrating as it was right before the competition. We've been told that this was a fairly common problem with newer Gamos, and it relates to a bad valve. We lubed the valve which helped, but the problem continued at a lower level, so we returned the gun. We liked the gun well enough to ask for another, hoping it won't have the problem. If the new one fails, we'll have to go to a different maker. So I would have to say this is a great gun when it works, but ours didn't."

"The Gamo pistol is a great little pellet pistol. However I returned it and got Cabela's RWS pellet pistol. It is much stronger and I'm much more please with this pistol. I would like to Thank Cabela's great service, and wonderful policy on returns, lets be carful with new items so if we do return they may be resold."

"As delivered the hand grip was loose and relatively rough. However, the pistol was surprisingly comfortable in the hand, is very well balanced, and is extremely accurate. My pattern at 10 yards is close to a quarter in spread and is consistently in the bulls eye. While the finish may not be perfect, the function is exceptional, and the price was very reasonable."
